For 12yrs I was on that hamster wheel. I was constantly in debt, and constantly sick. A year after our divorce I own my own business. I've lost 80 pounds, and I no longer in poor health. And all I had to do is get off the hamster wheel.

@@nathanhansen9134 Nate, absolutely. I had high blood pressure, diabetes, and other issues that I didn't have before I met her. And don't have now. I also had about $50,000 in the bank when I met her. When we divorced I was in $6000 debt. When I met her, she was driving a 10yr silver Dodge Caravan. When we divorced, she was driving a new silver Lexus. While I was driving a 20yr old Buick.

Narcissists will also never have a sense of self & are incredibly insecure at the end of the day. They try to become & mirror the people they date before they start devaluing you down to pet names & clothes. That’s why they choose who they choose. I’ve dated plenty of them & they always try to become me, even trying to match how I dress & everything else I do in life then the abuse comes right after. I’ve been single for four years by choice because of all of this & I finally have peace

Yes, thank you for breaking down these very confusing traits in simple terms. As a young young child I was so confused. The relationships with my family members who display NPD traits were full of contrast and needless orchestrated conflicts. I realized that my motivation and someone with NPD traits did not match. Example, I was looking for reciprocal conversation, what I received was validation seeking and trauma responses. No bueno! I learned to put my time and energy into people or experiences that fulfill me!

I just became a full member of your channel ❤ I have been watching your videos for the past month or so and have very much connected with all of them, but this video is one of my favorites so far. I was recently 'discarded' by my significant other (via text) and boy does it hurt. He threw me away like a piece of trash.. I wanted the relationship to work out so badly. I went out of my way and did everything I could to please this person and in the end he threw me away for something some insignificant and trivial.. and he decided to go that extra mile and pick me apart and tell me all the things that he hated about me (things he once loved.. or said he loved)... I'm just baffled by all of it. But your videos have helped me identify all of the red flags I did not see before, and also helped me be more forgiving to myself. Thank you ❤ sorry for the long post.

Your words were validating in what I had gone through and that I haven’t gone through this on my own. Other broken hearts are struggling and going through this.

Emily, I am so sorry you had to endure this. No one should. But I understand how baffled you are and conflicted. I think that goes with the territory in the relationship being with an individual like that that we get into. You don’t realize over time how an individual like that , in their ways can penetrate your heart and mind. Thank God they are unable to penetrate your soul and intuition. Because that is what we really have to rely on as our back up for self preservation. To listen to our soul and intuition. Oh myself, never realized they were individuals such as Beth, and can’t really say if this individual was a narcissist? I do, however, listen to my guides and the intuition and was coming up from my soul and I let that guide me. You and I and all the others in this group are enough. We truly are enough for the like-minded individuals such as ourselves. I have this saying you live, and you learn, and one truly does.

I am fairly confident that my partner of many years is a Narcissist, however one thing that confuses me, listening to this video, is that they have very little empathy. They cannot put themselves in another persons place to understand what they might be going through. That is how I see my partner, and my partner has confirmed this on several occasions. However when we first met, I heard her say on several occasions that she didn't care how other people thought of her, yet I was sure that I read into that that she was indeed very worried about her other people saw her ... that was though many years ago and these days I would say she doesn't care nor can she feel, even at a simple level, what other people feel.

I dont stalk but Im still getting updates that I dont ask for. She cheated on me with new supply and smeared me with claims of DV (that I won in court) and child sexual abuse claims (that were unfounded). Thank you for your videos and being a voice for us.

It's weird because the so called empath usually has no idea what it feels like to be a narcissist. The more you understand and learn to see the world from their shoes the less you care for them. In narcissist relationships cognitive and emotional empathy compete with each other.

Now that you understand how she works you are less likely to put her needs in first place and that's a great thing. Learning to be a bit more selfish is part of therapy, nobody better than yourself to take care of your own needs. The problem with narcissist is not that they put themselves first, it's that they expect and force everyone else to do the same.

I need to know if it is possible to be happy, even when others make you sad? I don't think I am looking for an external validation, as I used to. I care much less abt what people think. They usually don't make me happy, but they are capable of making me unhappy if that makes any sense. I would prefer not to care than second guessing myself, or having intrussive thoughts abt them and abt what happened or what was said.

Don’t beat yourself up. They make you think everything is your fault, which naturally makes you want to fix it. Problem is, it’s all a lie. They know they are only using you. Mine only admitted it when he didn’t need my attention anymore because he found someone else he could dupe into thinking he was a good catch.

I tried to discuss empathy. All i got was that he has lots of empathy and he shows this at work. Nothing qbout our relationship. It was how dare you say i have no empathy whilst turning anything i asked back on to me. Its weird. Its cruel and if one good thing my husband has showed me is that i am special. I am a good listener despite the fact i find it difficult with my husband. I have spent years trying to talk to my husband but every thing i say is me being a bad wife. All because i desperately wanted intimacy. Now i know hes just running away from himself as he hates himself. Its so sad as i love him still. Although the horrid smirk he left me with tonight and the fact hes thrown his wedding ring at me proves how stupid i have been. He has some poor woman q woman who i can guarentee will be a phillapeno at work as she looks young. I also realise that he has never respected me but saw me as naive so he love bombed me. Three wonderful children later who he does not care about off he goes. Good luck to my husband. 😂

What do you think of showing a narcissist one of your videos? My dad's a classic narcissist. Luckily I got myself therapy at 18 and moved away from him. Unfortunately at age 39 I was disabled and pregnant and apparently vulnerable bc I let him back into my life and now he's ruined my 5yr old daughter's life, her father's and mine. I moved to Brazil trusting his wife. That was my mistake. I used to think she was his victim like me...but after what I've been through and saw your vid about the fake empath. This is absolutely her. She fine with us being trapped and secluded in a favela (ghetto) We don't speak the language. The woman is Dr Jeckle and Mr. Hide. I cannot believe what we have been living the past going on 3 yrs. I physically can't travel back to the states and we gave up everything to move here so we'd have to start completely over 😭 sorry don't have anyone to talk to except the cyber world.

It’s not really karma.I’d say it’s more like a logical chain of cause and effect. I know some people wish to think the narcs will somehow get it, that fate will eventually punish them as if there was an automatic “justice” system for social justice but the truth is, the things narcs don’t get, are things they don’t want or seek. They are not things they would ever get, or they know they aren’t (supposed to be) getting. I mean For me, the things that make up fuel for a narc are insignificant. For them, the same things are the Holy Grail. Don’t think about them. Try to avoid them, try to detect them on early stages of any kind of interaction, try to avoid getting hurt by them. Equally, dont buy into their social media fairytale lives, achievements, communal personas, it’s all fake.

But Mam if she finds a man who is super duper handsome and he is financially secure than what will happen ??? She will treat him same as she use to treat me or she will change herself .. Nothing i have ever kindly given my husband does he cherish. He loves Nothing more than to blame everyone around him for his situation he finds himself in. Im not perfect far from it and one thing he has given me is that i actually like myself. Despite the hate i have been shown by him. He was long gone emotionally once he had a daughter then reached his brothers status of also having a son. That along with him denying me that i found adult baby porn on the computer when my secong daughter was born. He denied me finding it strangely several years later he was messaging a nurse practioner at work who validated his worh at work. Nope hes not ever hid his perversions but at the same time hated me to make him right and also the dogs doodas. Now hes after his new woman. Im just afraid that its a phillopeno at work who he loves to slag off that is alone and i fear for her if this is who he is with. Hes pathetic, he hates me his wife of 23 years because people just like me. No sex for two years hes definitely putting it about. Its time that i finally told my beautiful friends eho he has turned me against the truth.
