God the McCarthyism and regurgitated Red Scare crap is surreal. I used to think the Cold War was fun and I would have loved all the cloak and dagger secrecy and sneaking around as a commie sympathiser. And now that it's happening again, I understand it wasn't like that, I understand the terror and fear, I feel as helpless as the ordinary and maybe somewhat left leaning people then did.

We're conditioned to romanticize it by Western media portraying it as a game, but part of becoming class conscious in the West is to recognize how insidious it is that our ruling class is so comfortable portraying black-bagging, torture, and mass killing so lightly. It's not James Bond and The Avengers; it's Abu Ghraib, Mai Lai, Pinochet's helicopters, and The Act of Killing.

@@youtubeaccount2429 modern Russia is anti-soviet anti-communist at its core in all its actions and policies. Both russian citizens and people around the world who have goodwill towards russia as a state for its predecessor's deeds and aid, are fooled by the propaganda, that is exploiting the nostalgia and parasitizing on the Soviet achievements. While there is the imperialst system with the USA at its top some people( like in India) actively like Russia for its antagonistic stance on the US, the enemy of my enemy stuff. The simple truth that any state in this system if given enough resources to win the competition in the global power struggle is not a friend to the regular peopel must be exposed. Especially by class conscious people and communists. Thank you for your kind words.

@@youtubeaccount2429Is it just goodwill? If you understood the nature of bourgeois states, you would think otherwise. In the case of Russia, not merely a bourgeois state but more akin to a fascist dictatorship, can you *really* say this is simply good will? Cut out the campism. Don’t be fooled by capitalist tricks like Russia being calculated in their food and aid programs

Not sure If it was the same organization, but the Portuguese Communist Party had a similar program called Socorro Vermelho (Red Aid) which helped political prisoners and their families during the fascist Estado Novo dictatorship. Álvaro Cunhal, the secretary general during this period, escaped from prison and went into exile the USSR until the April 25th revolution. It's very possible that the model for the organization came from this soviet program. Thank you for the video

There was a similar organisation in Italy during the Years of Lead, also called Red Rescue (not formally affiliated to the party though), mostly consisting of legal aid for incarcerated left-wingers and material aid to their families. They later extended their scope to a general awareness campaign aimed at improving living conditions in prisons and jails.

I've been acquiring more 1917-1940s RSFSR / USSR stamps and some designs are very interesting. I saw the stamp featured in the thumbnail, a stamp from 1932 celebrating 10y of the MOPR. I still need to get it, along with other examples. Lots of early stamps using the red banner / flag coupled with a dark background is really beautiful. It's very humanizing to have these stamps on letters, these envelopes are sometimes hard to get just because of their age and what they went through. One item I very much want is something used just after the Civil War, where imperial stamps are overprinted with the RSFSR and a hammer and sickle, but these are very ratty and weathered and sometimes quite expensive! Pins and badges can be similar, which I'd hope to get into oneday.

you are already targeted like that. the only difference between now and then is that america didnt have to fear retaliation from anyone due to their access to the remnants of the european empire (they were all the same in europe, just couldnt agree who deserved to steal the most from the rest of the world, so all european conquest can be grouped into a single empire. culturally they all believe the same thing, which is - only well off people are human beings and deserve to have any say in what they do with their lives) . these days tho, our economy is entirely produced outside of the country, so optics really matters now. they have to be more sneaky with their government oppression. so they hire domestic terrorists to do it all for them instead so they have a convenient scapegoat

Random: I saw a Kijiji ad which is, at least in some ways, right in your wheelhouse. It's for a milling machine from 1978...made in UkSSR! I'd like to big that up, but given where it came from, where it was shipped to ("Canada") and where Ukrainian kulaks were shipped to (also "Canada"), I wonder if it was really a way for the pigs to fund Gladio-type operations "back home" on the sly. Anyway, I leave this here for your possible contemplation. The listing is titled "1978 STANKO 6R12 Milling Machine". ✊ It's C$15,000, which I assume is like two hundred bucks US...you can afford that. It's cute! 🎁

Love your channel, comrade! One suggestion: Whenever you move your microphone too much, there are unpleasant audio artifacts. Those artifacts likely stem from the cable getting knocked around and hitting the floor/an object. You might wanna consider moving it around less, installing it in a fixed position or getting a better XLR cable that is designed with live performances in mind. (Source: am music producer, I have encountered this issue many times before) Also, ADHD is not an "excuse", comrade. It is a real and debilitating disability. I have ADHD too, I get it. Sometimes your brain just won't. Beating yourself up over that is just gonna make you feel worse and won't accomplish anything. Please be kind to yourself and your brain. Glad to have you back! My partner is a member of the CPC and we were discussing this just the other day. We're not sure if China leading this would be construed as interfering in the internal political machinations of other nations and we're not sure if this would be counter the explicit goal of non-interference. I would like for this sort of organisation to come into effect again but I think it's complicated. I think that geopolitically we need to build up a base of non-aligned states to the imperial core and that if we press too hard towards explicitly pro-revolutionary stances we risk isolating developing socialist nations. I think we can press incrementally forward but this will take time and we should understand what we are ultimately planning for to be a radical shift in geopolitics.

Based! 2:55 Haha, that was great! Did you actually get her to do that at that moment? 6:51 Yeah, the tasks were almost certainly not completed. The dissolution was probably for similar reasons to the dissolution of the Comintern. The less frequent uploads are absolutely okay! In fact, I remembered what you had previously said when I saw this video in my feed, so this being up itself was really cool! What makes the modern red scare type stuff even worse, and the CPC itself being used as a reason for it - the CPC itself is so beyond revisionist. The bourgeoisie dominates it, and modern China. That being said, China is obviously miles and miles better than the US, of course, just saying. The US is very reactionary overall, but I do think the majority (hopefully vast majority?) are against the conservative/far right DeSantis type stuff. At least, I certainly hope so - . But, as always, attention should certainly be paid to it, and action taken.

Theirs a small town in West Virginia during the Cold War that had the only bridge in town collapse and the state wouldn’t help fund a replacement and was a necessity for the function of the town so after getting fed up being stonedwalled by their “public servants” the townspeople reached out *independently* to the Soviets for genuine Aid and they responded in solidarity and quickly agreed to help out these poor townsfolk and of course once the US government eventually heard about this arrangement they immediately changed course and agreed to fund the construction... political nightmare lol. Very amusing but also much respect for the Soviets showing support. Not a well known story here in the States (no surprise) but a lovely one nonetheless.

I've never heard about this organisation before, but I've heard of USSR, the Warsaw pact in general, (and some Western countries) intervening in the workings of the various Greek (semi)Fascist governments for the release of political prisoners, mostly famous artists, composers and poets are the widely known cases. Of course the real power behind these authoritarian regimes was the US. USSR also gave healthcare to people that were in critical condition, that helped the cause and didn't have money for western hospitals (in Greece we didn't have a public healthcare system back then), and they were accepting students in their universities who were "profiled" as Reds and faced discrimination and persecution, again before 1981. I'm pretty certain they helped Third World countries too in these respects. I don't think there will ever be another power that does this, Gorby really messed things up. PS: As I was typing this I remembered a "Red Aid" type group called "National Solidarity" (Εθνική Αλληλεγγύη) active during the Axis Occupation and founded by a Communist Doctor. They were the first mass resistance organisation and eventually joined the National Liberation Front (EAM). I don't think the USSR had anything to do with them though, except being their allies. So was UK/US 😁😂
