Should you get the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 or the Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e? Even though both tablets look quite similar, there are some important differences. The Galaxy Tab S6 is much faster, for instance, and features the S Pen stylus. With that being said, both offer a great 10.5-inch Super AMOLED screen, four speakers, and Android 9 Pie with the Samsung DeX desktop mode.

Had the S5E with 6 gigs ram. Seemed slow with the 670 processor. Sent it back to Samsung and got the S6 8/256. Couldn't be happier. Better performance overall and better cameras. Even though I don't use the pen a lot, there are some handy tricks the pen can do which make it fun to use.

Very good review of both tablets I was going to get the tab s5e because of the great screen as I'm mostly going to use it for KZfaq and Netflix type entertainment but not for games but when I phoned a local superstore they mentioned that probably next week the Samsung galaxy tab s6lite will be out and may even be the same price as the s5e which is £339 in England. Some other channels have mentioned that the s6lite will only have an ips screen and a lesser processor which may be true but I'm hoping you will soon be doing a direct comparison of them as I much prefer your reviews and trust your opinions.

Ok I could not wait due to being in lock down for 5 weeks up to now I'm happy to say thanks to your report and good review I purchased the Tab s5e foe £349.00 from argos and i'm really happy with it its just as you said 100% and a lot better than my old ipad v4 which no longer accepts the latest updates for lots of programs i like to use but the thing that I and my wife notice the most is the top quality screen that not only looks great but the screen real estate is a lot bigger ie: no cropping of videos top and bottom as with my old ipad, as I have been using a nice pair of headphones to watch video and netflix for years due to never being happy with the sound on my ipad its shocking how good the sound is on the samsung s5e its in a different league even better than the speakers on my Dell gaming laptop.

For 99% of the people - the cheaper one. Hardly anyone uses tablets or phones to their utmost potential anyway. And when it is about gaming - really? That is what a PC or a console is for. And painting or drawing on that stuff? Either get a Wacom Cintiq pro .. or if it MUST be portable a Wacom mobile studio pro. So those little tablets are just for light media consumption anyway.

a few points: -PCs, and even laptops for that matter, are not really all that portable. -current gen tablets are becoming more like laptops, just as powerful and versatile. -tablets will always have better displays. -tablets will support bluetooth keyboard and mouse. -the power supply for PCs and laptops is cumbersome. on that note, tablets have superior battery life.

I use a generic stylus that works well for scrolling and tapping on an app, and I prefer a full sized keyboard instead of an expensive and cramped toy. I am the typical consumer who likes to have the newest and shiniest product, but too much is being released too fast for my bank account to keep up with. Therefore, I think I will continue to use my current devices until they are older and slower than me! Thanks for the comparison though. If I was in the market, it was nice to know that I could buy a quality tablet 5e and save money.

i dont game on my tab so i went with the s5e and keep it in DEX its perfect nice sharp 1440p screen ..... multitasking on it is really smooth .... defo happy with it .

I think the best one is the s5e because it's cheaper than most tablets while offering top notch content consumption and a certain degree of productivity with samsung DEX, the s6 is pretty good but for that price you can almost buy a good ipad, which has ipadOS and you can do way more stuff in it.

I wanted to wait for the S6, but bought the LTE version of S5e as that was available and the S6 LTE version was end of year. Love the S5e, but can be sluggish from time to time, needing a restart. Having LTE on the tablet is super convenient! Would never by a tablet again with it!

I agree! Mine gets sluggish from time to time as well. Gets kind of annoying. My question is....should I swap it out for an S6 just for snappier purposes?!? I just use it mainly for digital comics and watching vids (Netflix/youtube/etc..). What do you all think I should do??

@@jessa.3857 I wouldn't assume to advise you on personal choices. In my case, I plan to wait until Tab S7 with 5G. I just restart every few days and it seems fine. Really, even compared to my Samsung Note 8, this thing is slow. But I feel I can live with it in the meantime. I also push my phone harder than my tablet which is just for casual use such as videos, youtube, emails, etc. Multitasking is where the S5e is let down. It is light though and i love it. Beautiful screen and speakers.

so, I'm interested in both for different reasons. I don't care about camera or the pen and the price of the s5e is for me, but I plan on only using it as for videos (youtube, netflix) and maybe gaming (xCloud). should I just get the s6? if I'm just gonna use it for vids, I'd rather get the s5e to be cheap. but I'd like the performance in the s6. again, I know I won't use pen or camera at all. p.s. is 6 ram fine for vids n games? also ps, I prefer the pink on the s6 than the gold on s5e 😅

Separate Samsung keyboard @ € $ 100 to 135 but may be able to get a no brand Bluetooth for fraction of that. I just purchased the s5e from Germany with 128 storage and 6 ram new @ € 390 + 14 DHL to Ireland. Irish price was 650. Then got a new cover on Irish site for € 10. Yes the desk top technology seems to work fine from KZfaq revues I have seen.

I dont know if you mentioned that only the S6 can play videos in HDR10+. The S5e doesn't even give you the option.

Nowadays, the Tab S4 is priced much closer to the S5e. Compared to the S5e, the S4 has a faster processor, bigger battery, S-Pen, and headphone jack. The S4 only costs $50 more than the S5e (from Best Buy). Also the S5e has WiFi issues when you hold it on the left side. I hope this post helps someone... I almost forgot about the LED light on the S4!

I read an article that the Tab S6 is the first tablet rated for HDR10+, which suggests that maybe the screens aren't exactly the same.

I don't need the pen at all, so that is not a factor for me. I have a surface for a 'laptop work' and haven't used the pen since the first week, and i don't plan to game on the tablet at all. I only plan to use it to watch Netflix/HBO/YT. Although since i am a nerd i have a hard time ignoring performance, so i am in doubt which to buy, but i am leaning to the S5e since i am also a cheapskate. Decisions, decisions..

@@jessa.3857 I have the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 1724 256gb, and I am satisfied with it. It doesn't waow me and it doesn't disappoint me either (there is always a little work going into normal windows maintenance). It does the stuff I want it to do, and it can keep the battery pretty good considering what kinda hardware you are using (not an energy-saving Arm processor but a 6th-generation Intel Core processor)). It is about heavy if you compare it with a tablet, but light if you compared it to a normal laptop. But it is closer to a laptop than a tablet. I use it for work stuff and a bit of surfing when I am not at home.

@@Cosmic_idea the thing is I originally wanted a tablet only for comics but then thought why not get a windows tablet since my desktop and laptop at home are pretty old and need to be updated. I would basically be using the surface for comic reading and it seems kind of silly to get that for it. If I had a need for a new pc then I'd get it but for now the S5E will be suffice for what I need it for.

On the s5e, go to the view of your apps (icon with 3 lines next to home button). Press on the icon of the app you to split screen and choose pop up view. You can do this multiple times. Hope this helps!

With the WiFi version, no, it does not matter. With the LTE version, it probably doesn't matter either. But to make sure, you could check if it supports the LTE bands that are most common in your country.

Why does my tab s2 have more color than my s6? Another problem you can only play 4k hdr on KZfaq, Netflix and Amazon won't work, another problem I think that my s6 doesn't have enough contrast I'm thinking of returning my s6 it's not as promised, especially when hdr is only available on youtube and even the hdr is to bright not enough color or contrast.

Higher brightness, and youll want to try to utilize torrents for loading better hdr content.

The early models had a WiFi problem which Samsung identified and now the newer models are fixed with no problems at all, my s5e never had such problems.

I tried both of these tablets side by side...my benchmark : opening and closing regular apps and surprise that tab 5 Se was faster...now if you are a gamer and the pen ..really does not matter that much.. yes go tab 6..but she'll a lot more ca$h!!!

For Netflix and light gaming, the tablet is truly amazing. For me, I'd prefer the s5e because I can't afford a s6, but I'd definitely get it in the near future...I am planning to give s5e to mys sister when that happens. I've never had problems with wifi, it works just fine when I'm web browsing and reading chapters for my hw, perfectly fine with drawing(but it's definitely better to buy a drawing tablet than a S6 because of my what you can do on software). I have been contemplating if I should return the s5e because of the spen, but it's actually worth it. I'd recommend for those on a budget.

Ayonax tab s5e has specs like midrange phone but more expensive. But tab s6 has the flagship spec with lower price than flagship phone.
