This in my opinion is the best track from Berserk. You knew something was wrong throughout all of the Golden Age. A dark undertone that built and built until it burst through with the most evil event in all of fiction, The Eclipse. A slithering evil that grew and grew with more and more death, faster and faster, fighting a battle against unwinnable odds with your friends dying in front of you. Most importantly the highest form of betrayal. This track is the definition of what Void was describing about causality. It foretold the doom that was to come from the beginning. Zod: “You cannot escape from your fate” This is a track that needs more eyes on it for Murder uniquely being a track of all buildup, its atmospheric qualities, and its storytelling. It is actually so good I before I was introduced to Berserk, created a situation like the Eclipse for a D&D campaign and planned it from this music. Imagine my shock when I hear what it was actually made for. Thank you very much for your reaction to this one and all the other Berserk songs

in my opinion its meant to be the opposite of the "earth" soundtrack, which builds up hope until a "victory is achieved" feeling. Here you have danger that builds up to sorrow

finally, the most berserk track of all of berserk. This track will always encompass everything that is the eclipse, the horror, the rage, fear, tragedy, violence, blood and gore, it means EVERYTHING. this track is nothing short of DEMONIC, sums up perfectly all that occurs during the eclipse.

I think the female singer is perhaps supposed to represent hope in a way, the will to try to survive. As I recall she begins singing when Judeu grabs Casca and takes off. There is no plan, there is just the natural impulse to run. Hope sings, but it is completely incomprehensible, it offers only token comfort. It is present perhaps only because they are in denial that there is hope. If they didn’t think there was a even a slim chance of escaping they would just crumble to their knees and accept their fate.

It could be, but I still think is just a premonition of what will happen.

Meh, if anything i think her voice was supposed to intensify the sense of damnation even more. It is very church choire-esque and given the setting when this song hits, i don't thin there was supposed to be any sense of hope ever again there was nothing but despair in this song imo.

When you pair the nasty drums with the spot in the anime where they play with all the beasts, in my mind they almost transform into singing growls. The monsters celebrating the Eclipse. Headphones give better clarity and help with your speech recording, but I feel the proper way to listen to _Murder_ is on speakers with a nice subwoofer so the bass sound can batter against your chest. I once listened to it laying down through my phone while it was resting on my torso and it was a whole other experience. It’s like the song is fighting to disrupt your natural heart rhythm. You can’t feel how truly suffocating it is when it is just being piped directly into your ear.

Susumu Hirasawa's music is absolutely the most fitting of berserk. But, I do believe that Shiro Sagisu (who composed the music for the 2012 movies) also did an amazing job. I have both their music in my playlist. My personal favorite ones are Griffiths dream (both versions), Des Leins Solides, Avant la tempete, Blood and guts, L'Amour Impitoyable, after the battle, my brother, Hundred years war, The sound of tortured souls, and L'Avenement_06. A lot of them capture the medieval theme of berserk, contrary to the way that Hirasawa's music captures the otherworldly aspects. In a way I think they balance each other out in terms of the Full berserk soundtrack.

Yes this is the Eclipse soundtrack. 1st 2.5 to 3 min also covers the visceral scene where the creatures gather and God Hand appear. My fav God Hand appearance is by Slan… she just rises up stark naked from a pile of heaving flesh and nightmarish beings falling around her as she keeps rising and rising up. Just dread. Truly dread but visually stunning.

"Horde of thisledown" is also one of the best pieces from Susumu Hirasawa. I don't know if its from berserk or not.
@johnfett1177
@johnfett1177 7 ай бұрын
Horde of Thistledown comes from one of Hirasawa's albums called The Secret of the Flowers of Phenomenon. It was used during a recap episode back when the movie trilogy was releasing in Japan. It was narrated by Skull Knight and summaries the first two films, and Horde of Thistledown was used as the ending song. So it is a Berserk song even if that wasn't it's original purpose.

You are misinterpeting the sounds you call bubbles, it's not for the intent of making it sound musical, it carries much more weight in the symbolical aspects and the evil situation at hand. It's very specific and not unintentional for them to be there. The bubbles are the sounds inside Griffith's rebirth cocoon as he's being transformed and reborn as a member of the Godhand, the demon Femto. Not only can you hear what you call bubbles but you can also hear the streams of the rivers of blood from over 200 men being killed surging and being consumed by the 1000's of tormented faces on the ground moving all of the bodily fluids, flesh and blood straight to Griffith's rebirth cocoon! As the song progresses more and more blood is being surged and the intensity of Griffith's cocoon reaches its climax and he emerges out from his cocoon/egg, reborn, as the demon Femto. Those are the sounds in the song Murder, so they created this song for a very specific reason to depict and to bring to live the very evil and horrific event at hand.

Thanks for spreading such beautiful content, dude! I think "Berserk" from 90's has extremely deep soundtracks. Their atmosphere makes the show way more serious and natural, building the whole spectrum of positive and negative emotions, perfectly implied to the storyline. The thing is those dark and misterious themes are even more marvelous than other ones for me because of their artistic RARITY. They show us the reverse side of the medal, the foundation of beauty, the price of peaceful life and the fear of loosing all the world's gifts at once in absolute darkness, which is waiting for it's call every second everywhere around everybody. These tracks give us a chance of being awarned about wrong steps in future. They underline the meaning of steady, secured, quiet and comfortable for new inventions and achievements condition of the existence, the part, which is also stated in this series by "Earth" and "Guts theme" motives. So basically those fearful nasty layers bring us the loveliness of hopeful lines in quite complex, unique and, as I see it, pretty realistic way of interpretation. That's why I love these OST so much. By the way "Clannad", "Zankyou no Terror" and "Ping Pong The Animation" are quite strong at musical accompaniment too. Well, some other titles also have amazing instrumental compositions 😅. Highly recommended to get familiar with: 1) "Yukinohara" ("Snowfield"), "Nagisa", "Roaring Tides" (both versions), "To the same heights", "Town, Flow of time, People", "Illusions", "Shining in the Sky" from "Clannad"; 2) "is", "von", "lolol" from "Zankyou no terror" ("Terror in Resonance"); 3) "Ping Pong Phase 2", "Night cruising", "Like a dance", "Hero theme (Full Ver.)", "Sweet pain", "Tenorahiwotaiyouni" from "Ping Pong The Animation"; 4) "66 steps", "Don't Look Behind (Requiem version)", "Tear Drops to Earth" from "Black Lagoon"; 5) "Date", "Twilight" from "Kimi no Na wa" ("Your name"); 6) "YuujinAkunwo...", "Again" from "Your lie in april"; 7) "lvs (var)", "lit (var)" from "Koe no Katachi" ("The Shape of voice"); 8) "Licht und Schatten", "Das zweite Kapitel" from "Tokyo ghoul"; 9) "Last train home" from "Ano Hi Mita Hana No Namae O Bokutachi Wa Mada Shiranai"; 10) "isla" from "Plastic memories". I truly love and highly rate every track, which I mentioned before. Well, series may not be so good. Hope to see your reaction with analysis of those musical masterpieces, Atlas, you're doing great stuff!

Fascinating that your Remix could be straight out of Darks Souls III, Bloodborne or Elden Ring while the Souls Series is strongly inspired by Berserk. The Erdtree from Elden Ring is a prime example. And the second phase/part with the female voices is so Shin Megami Tensei demonic. This is an absolute amazing track.
