So technically, Carver Park is in the area between Watts, where I went to HS ages ago, and Compton, though the school near this park is Compton Unified, but the area is sort of between two cities more or less. Our city's borders are crazy, yo...so we dip and slip back and forth. Carver Park is maintained by the County of Los Angeles, thus the CHP jurisdiction for traffic. LA County Sheriffs also patrol the area regularly, then when you hit Imperial Hwy...it's LAPD's turf. So I know this area really, really well. Daughter was a member of the nearby Watts, Willowbrook Boys and Girls Club on 120th Street, that I regularly drive near the new Martin Luther King/ Drew Community Hospital.
