@Equality Nation what that got to do with it? I’m lowkey lost break it down to me cause from what I heard him say was he a 2 time felon that changed his life for his family after “bangin” since he was a teen. As a black teen I would respect his words more & do right in life cause he’s not black. But that’s a simple way of me tryna get what I thought out

@Equality Nation but in reality bro that Mexican dude just the same as a black. They minorities and deal with the similar struggles we do. We control the population in west coast prisons and if it’s a white dude saying the same shit he said certain lifestyles don’t got a race on it

“Growing up we had no father, our father was the hood”. Man, keep your kids close and show them some love. Dads, just know that you are super important in the lives of your children - that social connection and bellongingness these gentlemen are looking for outside their home can be replaced with you embracing your kids.

Yeah nowadays ppl wear whatever....in the 80's-90's it wasn't as common to see Crips wearing red but it definitely happened. Certain older Blood sets wore blue with the red flag back then. Still it's just odd for certain ppl to see. You see how that older woman pulled up on them and commented on them being flamed up....😭🤷🏾‍♂️ colors aren't a big thing but still definitely a "thing"

I grew up in West Compton, graduated from Compton H.S. and went in the Army for 20 years. My mom just passed. I inherited the house and have it managed by a property manager. As you can see in "the Homes" video.....Compton looks pretty nice. These young brothers were kind of refreshing to listen to. They are by far not bad people. They are trying to find themselves and have some pride in Compton. I was there 29 days. Over by Dominguez High School and by Our Lady of Victory there are white people buying houses. When I graduated from high school the non Mexican part of Compton was a war zone after dark. Now the place has businesses, Mexican, Soul Food, in places that look respectable. I am glad I kept the house. I was an ESL student and all of my teachers in Junior and Compton High School were first rate. Now the place looks very good. Paramount and Northtown Long Beach look good too. Real estate in Compton, Paramount, and North Long Beach costs dearly. While recently clearing out mom's affairs...I remembered West Compton's Blessing.....that cool breeze from the south that takes the heat out of the day. I am really glad the world has turned for Compton. My mother had great neighbors of all kinds of people that respected her and miss her. Used to look out for her. That makes this retired First Sgt very happy and greatful. May God watch over Compton and her good people from diverse backgrounds that are making Compton an All America City.

@BruhTV You got some learnin to do homie everybody got some good inside of em cause we all innocent as kids but our environments can affect how we view the world and the people around us. I grew up without a father like them, unfortunately I grew up on the poor side of the city so I saw alot of fucked up things happen to people that, for the most part, didnt deserve it. These things become all we know as we grow up and so its hard for us to even think about a life out there thats different because we grew up watchin our moms count the last pennies she had to go get us a hot plate after her midnight shift while its below 30 and people fightin and stealin on the same street she had to walk through to get to the store. Shit is real sad the way alot of kids just arent being taught the right values or skills to get ahead in life and do more than smoke drink fight and retaliate for a fallen brother, its a cycle that'll never end because this world aint being run by the real god anymore, this is satans rule we live under and the reason the majority of people cant see their way out is not all their fault, we only human and theres only so much we can do without any hope or vision of the future. Youngsters need guidance, hope, self confidence, and most of all LOVE.

not sure if you’ll see this but, i believe you because my mom raised me and 2 other brothers, really bad areas, no ac (still none to this day), cheap food, always moving around, people breaking into our house, etc. and my older brother has graduated college with a bachelors, i’m like halfway though college and my younger brother is always top of his classes in high school, none of us are making six figures yet, but i’m confident we have the ability to in about 5 or 6 years tops, i don’t mean that in a boasting manner, but it’s possible, it’s just a matter of how you’re raised plus your desire for success, you can’t rely on only one, sometimes i needed motivation or reality checks from my mom growing up and that plus my realization of the world around me, i knew i needed to work my ass off (still am as of writing this comment), i knew i didn’t wanna be getting shot on the street or selling drugs, half my friends did that after high school but i think it’s way too risky, just how that dad said in the video, you could make money selling drugs or hitting licks but why do that? you can end up locked up or dead, it’s better to earn clean money because it’s safer and you work for it, it’s a great feeling, sounds cheesy but it’s true, man. Whether you’re the parent of kids you’re not so confident in or you’re that kid, not sure about life, be smart, college isn’t for everybody, but neither is the street life, shit, even if you’re out there working at a retail store or something, i promise it’s still better than the street life, don’t end up dead over some money or bad choices.

I would like to tell them , there’s more to aspire to and I feel through the camera it’s not a place they want to be .. every episode show me young men living in an environment they clearly wish wasn’t theirs....meanwhile bringing it back closer everyday... I pray one day they become the light they aspires to become deep inside their hearts... ❤️🇻🇳🇨🇦 Love.
