Definitely the best one in the series. Thanks for the challenge, I would have never tried painting faces, but have become addicted to observing and painting... Can't wait to start the fifth one!

What a great challenge this was, thank you so much for doing that! I had a lack of inspiration and motivation the past couple of month and you totally got me out of that! :D Can't wait to paint the last face, I'm already done with the sketch 🖋💪

Hello Hardy. I have few of your courses on Udemy And I was curious why do you apply simple rendering on your figures And skiping flat local colours as I saw in many digital artists. Is there any reasonable advantage/disadvantage to evade this (even for beginner) or Its simply your workflow And what suits better for you? Thanks man
@fowlerillus
@fowlerillus 2 жыл бұрын
Probably a bit of both things that you described. I find this approach easier because it lets me compartmentalize value and color which both seem to take so much of my brain power that I find it easier to approach them individually. However, workflows are a very individual thing and this happens to work best for me. If you are having good results with another method, definitely go with that! It seems like there is never just one way to success with digital art

Isn't the "red" zones is only suppose to be red if the beast's blood is the same colour as humans? if it bleed green gunk shouldn't it be green spots instead? I love your content even got some of your udeme classes and taken a sneak peak at your artstation, looking at you work is a little scary and motivating at the same time. Oh boy do I find the sculpting the harder task to do. It would be nice if you explained what the different choices (why you chooses to do this and that when you sculp and what it means ) in character shapes tell and mean to individual character.

Very good point and that's totally true. Working under the assumption of red blood here but you can definitely communicate more monstrous looks with different hue variations. Colder blue zones can really do a great job of selling a vampire look for example.

Oh bummer - this one moved pretty fast. There were four other faces in this series though and I go through the process a bit more linearly on the earlier ones.

@@fowlerillus i watched more of your videos. I really liked how you made the 5 monsters in 5 weeks series. The lizard one is my favorite. I want to learn how to do that too.
