Conditional Finality is the Exotic from the Root of Nightmares raid in Destiny 2. It's also an example of very good game design. From the visuals to the gameplay, it all circles back to how it fits into the universe of Destiny 2.

I’m just so glad it hasn’t been nerfed, I think in PvP, it counters things that need a counter and outside of that, as a shotgun well it’s just a good shotgun. I hardly use mine in pve but I’m glad it’s there and I’m glad it’s potent, one of the coolest looking and feeling weapons in the game imo

Conditional finality (imo) setup to be the gateway drug to subclass 3.0 verbs and its perfect for that role. Also it hasn’t had its time in the sun, I don’t care what anyone else says.

Not had its time in the sun you say. So a large portion of the PvP sweats in the game did not grind the hell out of Root of Nightmares to try to get this gun and for those that have it, it has not left their kinetic slot since. RIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT.

i have never been able to get the freeze/scorch to work in pvp. i’ve had the barrel in dudes chests, nothing. like i would love to have it on and be able to counter bubbles and wells in trials, but that shit never works

The thing about conditional is that you can't be right on top of the enemy. Point blank, the weapon always misses (for some reason... why? IDK). You need to have a bit of distance, maybe a meter, for the shots to prime.

I’m standing on this hill for as long as destiny lives. Conditional Finality and Duality need to have a name swap. It makes more sense that way. Ice and fire - classic example of a *duality* Slug or pellet - depending on the *condition* of the fight, you may need a slug for range or pellet for quick clean ups.

From a lore perspective, absolutely not. The “condition” of the final shape is the combination of Light and Dark. That’s why it has that name, that’s why it deserves that name.

I've never seen anyone in strikes using it or even patrols, but I've seen sweats getting my card flawed just for why not

It's the same principle as Cloudstrike. In PvE, both are cool, but you can do the same stuff and more with ample access to abilities and heavy. But in PvP there is no easy replacement. There are weapons that are better at being a pure sniper/shotgun (matador / mercurial for example), but when you could have gotten a multikill or killed that bubble if you had the correct exotic on, it feels terrible. It's really not surprising everyone is using conditional 24/7 tbh.

Honestly I'm fine with it for the time being, since its popularity single-handedly holds back wells/bubbles even now (but that's also a big problem, most sessions I end up not being able to take down a bubble and then swap back to conditional). I really hope that they make the nerf PVP-exclusive and give us more reliable counters first.

honestly sounds like you’re just bad at using it. it does absolutely absurd amounts of damage and can stun all 3 types of champs.

Tbh it and the darkness subclass suck they are just pay for free hard cc it’s cringe especially when dlc doesn’t transfer game feels awful if you don’t buy all the dlc for all the platforms you play
