Definitely needed this right now! Thank you so much! Right now I’m struggling with trills. Whenever I practice them, my shoulder tenses up. Do you have any tips?

Thanks for writing Chow- happy that this video helps- the shoulder tension can be because the the fingertip is not firm enough. And so the other areas like the forearm and shoulder overcompensate. Try using a firm finger tip. I have a video about this on KZfaq or you could get a fuller free tutorial on thegrandmanner.com Aside from that try grouping your notes in the trill. Sometimes if we are not sure when the trill should end or how many notes we have to trill we also get tense. Just think of two or four note groups and that should help organize it in your mind. Hope this helps💕

@@MargaretWacyk thanks for the very informative advice! This is really a big help for me because when the Covid-19 outburst started, I wasn’t able to have lessons to my teacher again because of the strict lockdown. And so, youtube became my mentor and I’ve experienced a lot of pain mentally and physically at the beginning because I was still in the process back then of finding which channels provide the optimum technique. It was a trial and error struggle. I was also in the verge of quitting piano because I didn’t have anyone to guide me to which direction I should take towards improving this craft. But now I’m able to see progress again without my teacher. Thank you Margaret! I hope you continue on posting these invaluable lessons!
