My husband had the same issue with trials here in So Cal during Covid. There’s nothing to stop an expert witness from watching the proceedings on their computer and tailoring their testimony accordingly. The courts never figured out a solution to this problem and it’s definitely a issue that needs to be addressed. Some people can be trusted to be ethical and follow the rules. Some……not so much.

We have a community center in our development.. we had a little old lady using this community center that really nobody else used as a daycare center.. none of us noticed and I think she did it for 5 years before she got caught

I emailed a county commissioner to quit rocking back and forth in his chair during a Zoom meeting. He was going from way back in his chair to when he was forward his head took up the whole screen section.

I have the same problem and it started when I got monovision as a kid. Monovision is when you have your glasses set so you see distance out of one eye and close up out of the other. had mine set that way because I didn't want to wear bifocals as an 8-year-old.

I'm sure all of us are curious Mike.... did the Caterer use that Event Center location to cater the wedding (june 11th) that Judge Middleton attended. They very next day on the 12th was when they were charged. Maybe the Catering for the 12th ( at that Center location) was a one time thing because they had two events back -to-back and needed more space? We need an Update with details. BTW-Saw Team Skeptic cover a Judge Simpson's case which was VERY interesting and FUNNY! Elderly AA woman in Court on charge and Judge refers to case in question ( She had 2 cases.. Judge was covering the first early date only ) Defendant blurts out... "Was that the one where I had the crack pipe ? I'm sure the Prosecutor had a WTF moment right there. As they warn people... "Anything you say CAN and WILL be used against you "

was a texas cps case. one party was sequestered, on zoom. broadcasted on youtube. got to a point witness saying yes, person was with other person. his social media posts show pictures of two together. have a court person interrupt, saying witness listening in, as social media pictures all disappearing. closed courtroom to proceed. (and cps already had screenshots at that point)

This is a whole can o’ worms that involves the House of Nuts (really) which is a condemned building. However at the last minute ownership of this building was transferred to a charity to save it from destruction because it is a historic structure. You can imagine not many of these survive in St Joseph County. The Village of White Pigeon is just worried that without someone else assuming liability, people go in there & die when the whole place goes up in flames. Then they get sued for money that they don’t have.

My wife gets motion sickness from monitors with a lot of movement, especially in her peripheral vision. She Can’t play first person games, etc. so I can totally see the judge having issues with that fan

Even if you were losing, Judge Middleton isn’t a judge you trade off for someone else. To me, he seems the most laid back and as fair as can be. But honestly, it would be hard to choose between Judges Manning, Simpson, Middleton, and Webster in Kansas.

This building has had a number of hearings this year regarding the safety issues. City wants to tear it down. Owners are trying to save it from being destroyed. Lots of different issues in this case one of Middleton's headaches.

Another reason why proceedings should not be simultaneously broadcast to the world. Conducting it on KZfaq necessarily means losing control of the courtroom.

They have the option of delaying the broadcast. Some of the judges do that here to assure sequestration-- the record the proceedings but delay the broadcast until after it's over.

Middleton knows just about everyone in his area! I really enjoyed his little bit about being thankful for the day and his job at the beginning. We’d all do well to stop and be grateful for what we have.

Putting them in breakout or conference rooms so they can't hear the testimony of others is a good solution on the fly like that. Great way to think on your toes Judge Middleton. They all know what sequester means so he knew what the intent was of being put in the conference room. He should be held in contempt.

If the Honorable Judge Middleton had to recuse himself every time he knew one of the parties (if not ALL of the parties) he’d never be able to judge a case in that county. He knows everyone. 😂 Arty (cat daddy), had a good one last night involving 2 officers dealing with an Appalachian woman (clearly not for the first time) in western Virginia. The accents made it all more fun.

Where in northern MI? I've done a bit of field work there during my geology. I also took a couple vacations up there. Loved driving the back roads and enjoying the forests.

my dad's courtroom has similar tamber wall treatments. it creates a nauseating effect when scanning the room. definitely encourages one to focus on the ppl vs staring off in to space.

I love how no one smiles or even bats an eye at his ceiling fan comment lol i love him as a judge!! Hes proly one of the few judges that can make u smile even while giving u bad news when ur infront of him in trouble lol

The fan will do that me too. It would give me a migraine headache. Some of us can't stand things like that. I can't play video games either, they make me sick to my stomach. I can't even walk into my shed because the floor is not level, I get sick to my stomach.

I have to wonder if the subpoena said not to watch any of the proceedings. Like, it may still say "You cannot enter the courtroom while this case is being tried until you testify," but didn't make it clear that that was to prevent him from seeing what was going on at all. I may also just be playing Devil's Advocate too hard though.

That tree makes you like you have a crazy new haircut. The attorneys should have investigated what the exact relationship is between webster and the judge and his wife, just to ask him to state what the nature of their relationship is. For example do webster and the wife socialise together or is it casual? Has the judge ever put business websters way? You dont have to be accusatory but having it fully out in the open would be helpful.

But isn't that putting judge Middleton right in the middle of that mess? He was there not annoying what's going on, Any knows the people. So that kind of puts him in an awkward position. Because if they don't like the outcome of the trial whatever it is, Then they can try to put a back on him, and that's not right.

And on another side of the government , moneys funding and apparently supporting new and upcoming businesses Wouldn’t It be epic if the village hall could connect wth these other ‘ concerned bureaucrats’ and this ‘crime’ could become something proactive .. . I mean it’s a Village hall . I hope it’s full of pro social activities , doors wide open for groups and meetings , it’s not just meetings on complaints about the use of the village hall 😳 Judge Epic would make this so if he could have several extra days a week to work bless him ✨

Sequestration = the action of taking legal possession of assets until a debt has been paid or other claims have been met. Oh god... I thought we were taking about castration, and I was waiting the juicy part. English is not my first language =( You can delay the upload to your tube. I am not sure how, but some streamers are known to do that when playing hide and seek type of game.

I love me some Judge Middleton, but I would have asked for a recusal on this one. Even if all of the available judges knew of some of the parties, if it involved attending the event in question, that seems to me a bridge too far.
