He has definitely had a better junior. Time to see how he translates that to the NHL. It will be very hard to keep pace with McDavid numbers and success though. (Obviously I'm talking individually success and not ultimate team success.)

better in terms of what? points per game? bedard had a slightly better points per game over his junior career. Mcdavid had a slightly better ppg in his draft year. He also lead his team to the ohl finals in his draft year. He still would've easily went over bedard if they were in the same draft year. He was better than bedard in every single category besides his shot/goal scoring. Definitely possible to argue mcdavid had a better junior career. I mean just watch mcdavids ohl highlights, he looks years ahead of bedard at the same age.

The reason for Bedards drop in y2 was they tried playing him on the wing and making him play a different style than he was used to. After they let him play his game and go back to C, he scored at a higher pace than McDavid. Context is important here. Not to mention McDavid's 2.55 is impressive but Bedard's 2.51 in an era adjusted lower scoring league without high calibur linemates on one of the worst teams in the league is, in my opinion, far more impressive, especially as the WHL is extremely defense focused. In his draft year McDavid wasn't even the best player, in terms of total points or ppg in the chl. Bedard was both with much less help.

One big thing for the world juniors point is, beddard had some blowout games where he really padded his stats. A 7 point game in an 12-2 win vs Germany and a 6 point game in an 11-0 game vs Austria. Not saying that's bad or anything! Especially considering he was chasing records! But McDavid never really had those blowout games where the coach kept giving him ice time. The world J's really depends on who Canada pulls in the round robin for point records!

Crosby's the answer. He's the only one to win his league's championship in his draft year and play in the Memorial Cup. First prospect ever to win the CHL POTY at age 16 (only one other-Tavares) and also first to win it in back to back seasons (again, just one other-LaFrenierre). And his numbers are great.

I've been a Hawks fan since the mid-80's and it's been a long time since I've been pumped over a player. I don't think I was even this excited when the Hawks won the lottery and took Kane.. I mean the Hawks have never had a "generational talent" with this type of "hype", expectation and potential.. Sure we had Kane, Toews, Roenick, Denis Savard and guy's of that ilk - but never a player that could do the things McDavid, Crosby, Lemieux, Gretzky, Jagr etc could do.... So yea, I'm looking forward to how this team progresses over the next few years - I mean the Hawks are in a great position moving forward, and they should be contending for a playoff spot in 2024-25. Obviously the 23-24 season is going to be an "evaluation" year so the brass can get an idea of what pieces the team needs to contend in the near-future.. Clearly Bedard is going to play a significant role, but hockey is a team sport and it's going to take a lot more than just Bedard to bring the Stanley Cup back to Chicago, but Bedard is without question the best prospect possible to build a contender around.. I honestly don't like comparing players because I've been a fan for a long time and I've seen many players come and go, and over that time I've learned that every player brings something different er unique to the ice -- but many fans do, and comparing players is part of fandom so I have a feeling that this whole "Bedard or McDavid" argument is still in it's infancy and it's only going to get louder over the next decade, lol.. I will say this tho, Bedard is going to attract a lot of talent to the Blackhawks - so I would keep an eye on the Hawks because they're going to be major players in the next few free agency periods.. I mean I could realistically see the Hawks signing one of the major top UFA's such as Matthews over the next coming years, and if Davidson plays his cards right - he could build a "super team" that's a perennial contender for a decade to come.

Look no further than their linemates. McDavid had Dylan Strome (2015 3rd OA pick) and Alex DeBrincat (2016 39th OA pick - size bias, etc.). - Strome (RW) put up 129 points in 68 games for 1.897 points/game. - DeBrincat (LW) in his D-1 season no less put up 104 points in 68 games for 1.529 points/game. Ridiculous linemates with ridiculous chemistry. Let's compare that to Bedard... Bedard had Alexander Suzdalev (2022 70th OA and in his D+1 year) and Tanner Howe who is looking pretty good but was in his D-1 year and didn't really develop chemistry with Bedard until later in the season imo - Suzdalev (LW) put up just 86 points in 66 games for just 1.303 points per game. - Howe (RW) put up 85 points in 67 games for 1.269 points/game The most chemistry Bedard found was actually from his D man, Stanislav Svozil (2021 69th OA), who in his D+2 year put up 78 points in 56 games for 1.393 points per game. Now despite this clear advantage for McDavid while also playing in an easier era, Bedard put up 143 in 57 (2.509p/g) to McDavid's 120 in 47 (2.553p/g). The winner is very clearly Bedard without even factoring in the record setting World Juniors.

21st century 001-100 was the first hence 1900 was the 20th. Bernard is like bossy not as fancy and flashy but will be scary if he stays consistent. In the Detroit game he wasn't leaving that end without that goal and that pass. McDavid lacks the datsuke factor. Bedard is a natural scorer all around team player and creative as fuck. Dips doodling is irrelevant in the grand scheme winning is the key that all promise but don't deliver. He is going to SHATTER records. Very good video by the way keep it up bud.

I like a guy who challenges himself by drawing the opposing guy to him making an amazing play it’s just more satisfying and hardworking and in my opinion more rewarding one thing I’ve noticed tho it’s always mcdavid mcdavid mcdavid it’s never anyone else it’s just him I don’t like a one man show I get he can do it but man you can’t win it all with one man just like my hawks won’t win in the future with just bedard I mean am I wrong

McDavid definitely isn't a one man show. He set a career high in goals this year... but he also set a career high in assists too! Meaning he likes to get everyone involved in the play. But I agree. Love the way Bedard lewers people in!

Mcdavid had the higher ppg in his draft year, and in the much better OHL, and scoring today in the CHL is WAY up since 2015. And the eye test?? Lol, its not close.

Bedard played on a shitty team and mcdavid played with strome and debrincant

He had a higher ppg while playing in an era adjusted higher scoring league than todays whl. The ohl scores a lot more and he played on a far stronger team, and Bedard scored way more goals without help.

You might want to look up the word "percentage" in the dictionary. There is no such thing as PPG%.

I've watched 15 Bedard videos. It looks like pick up hockey. Bedard hasn't been touched in any video. Are Juniors "no check" now ? He's in for a huge awakening.

If someone try’s to hit Bedard and he gets by, now he’s one on one with the goalie. That’s a goal most of the time🤦‍♂️

@@i_love_sausage7187 Link me to a Bedard video where someone is trying to hit him. Junior's looks like 'no check'. He's going to get pounded in the NHL. I wish him the very best but he has BUST written all over him.

@@matt75hooper They said the same thing about Patrick Kane. Kane was basically untouched his entire NHL career. Bedard is about 25 lbs heavier than Kane when they were drafted.

And Mcdavid shot is not at his level at all. Junior careers not even close with Bedard Winn ng easy. Bedard team was average. Erie had 2 first rounders on his line.

@@Khalistan159A) This video is clearly only about Juniors not the NHL it literally says it. Use your brain B) Mcdavid won’t notice you dude you don’t have to defend him so valiantly. C) Bedard will do fine in todays NHL, hits aren’t as big in the game nowadays. Skill is. Bedard has a lot of skill
