Entirely true

From what I can tell there’s no one word to encapsulate the vitriolic crowd properly. A lot of my personal research into where this go-back mentality comes from seems to point to a corner of the Republican Christian community. Where opinions on the matter usually boil down to either “unforgivable sin” or “legalize hunting season”. So it’s a pretty extreme blemish on the group that spreads like wildfire and becomes insanely difficult to separate from not only well meaning but well adjusted members. (And of course an obligatory understanding that these people exist in EVERY community including my own, not only that but likely make up less than a majority of even the most narrow demographic)

I am of the opinion however that we should listen to them only to debunk and devalue them to the point people see them as the joke they are.

While the sentiment is nice, I don't think you understand what modern core conservatism is. This isn't some fringe group at the far edge of the GOP we're talking about anymore. This is CPAC. This is the RNC. This is the belief of Governors of entire states. This is the belief system of most right-wing news outlets, especially the podcasters. To put it bluntly, if you don't believe that a central authority should control every aspect of every citizen's personal life, you're not in line with mainstream conservatism anymore. To illustrate my point, drag shows are being banned in red states now. Given that most furries have multiple characters they dress up as, it's not uncommon for them to have at least one that's gender-bent. This means that furry conventions are also being banned automatically as a side-effect by republican governors. This isn't your one crazy uncle we're talking about anymore. It's major party leaders. Conservatives might not want to see themselves that way, but if they vote exclusively for authoritarian hyper-conformists, then they stand for authoritarianism, whether they want to admit it or not. It's hard to find any GOP candidate put forth by CPAC and the RNC that doesn't qualify anymore.

@@HotBaraDad666 Mainly because the furry fandom has been seen as odd and cringe-inducing for a long time because of the fursuitting, art, and fetishes. I simply pay attention to what the haters say and step into their shoes. Of course I know that pedophiles and zoophiles are a loud minority. I'm just pointing out the real reason why furries get hate. It has little to do with homophobia because all the furry haters I networked with are for the rights of the LGBT community. One of them proclaims he's pansexual (I think he's bi). Except now, a majority of the human race is being called "transphobic" because they speak Spanish, and I wouldn't be surprised if some of those moral guardians are furries. I made a video about that and what it has done to other people in an Orwellian manner.
