Best video yet. Love the way you are so honest about things. I'm too old now but if i was 30 years younger I'd be taking your advice and build a business. I've not done bad but would have loved your inspiration and I'm sure many will be encouraged to succeed!

Cracking video fellas, keep em coming. Just gone from sole trader to setting up on my own with a few lads on board. Had a lot of questions spinning around in my head but this video answered most. Be good if you could do a few more in depth videos on pricing etc. This channel has really inspired me to get after it. Thanks again.

Thank you so much for answering my questions! Another question - if you are a company like every trade…but solely use subcontractors. What insurance/liability cover do you take out as some insurances only insure the actual tradesmen (subcontractor) doing the work rather the “every trade” (building consultancy). Name of the cover or Insurance company will be helpful as I maybe searching the wrong type. Really beneficial content…most important thing I learnt from the video was you do have to trust people. Looks like you guys have a great genuine partnership!

Great question. You have to have a policy that covers sub contractors. It’s expensive!

How do you go around paying capital gains tax as a company? I'm a self employed bricky looking to dona flip but by time I look at the income tax and pay capital gains tax as it's classed as a second home I'd be paying around 40% tax which means it's not worth my while!! Is there a way to avoid this by becoming LTD or whatever? Also is capital gains charged just on a sale of a house or does it apply for rentals aswell? Any help or advice would be great lads! Would be great if you could get this question in your next video to explain it better thanks again 👍 keep up the good work guys I'm pritty much wanting to do the same as yous I'm a bricky by trade done extensions for the last 15 year I do everything apart from the gas, electrical and plastering works do everything else myself even kitchen and bathroom fitting, also just passed my class 1 HGV and grab tests in October love the content keep up the good work

In a limited co. If you sell a property and make a profit after all expenses etc…you will be liable to pay corporation tax starting from 19%. If you are looking to trade more than one property, as in flips your best setting up a company for tax purposes. If you set the Co up so it’s part of a group of companies you own with a main holding company, you can divert profits/money between them and offset losses to be tax efficient. Speak to your accountant if you have one or we can put you in touch with ours. With property you hold to rent out, the profits are taxed the same as a sale if within a limited co. If in your personal name, it depends on your current tax band. Low-rate taxpayers will get relief so doesn’t impact much. Higher rate payer will get hit harder. Best practice is always go down the limited company route, especially if you are looking to do a few. One property would just about cover the fees of a Co. We can explain this in detail on a standalone video.

Where did you learn about HMO’s

Learnt by going in the deep end and buying a house to convert into a HMO. Searched google and KZfaq relentlessly to find information I needed to complete the project. Looked at other developers houses in the area at the time to see how they were doing the layouts etc… Then learnt from my mistakes 😂
