This needs so much body stability and strength + control. The fact Kyrie can do this through contact full speed and with different angles and spin, even high off of glass, while making it look easy, is a testament to his finishing greatness.

My favourite move. A slightly easier variation I used to do was a single step, show the ball, chest level craddle, to outside finish. I find that the craddle movement helps with momentum if athletes don't have the core strength and or bounce, yet.

Yep, i do the same thing. i love using the cradle gather after showing the ball, very effective.

CFrancisBasketball smart. Is core the most important muscle for finishing power?

CFrancisBasketball I guess it makes sense core is used in finishing because you have to crunch your body in air like an ab crunch

@@MrDiMES123 Its up there. Because it can stabilise your torso even through contact or if you have counteractive movements with your other limbs.

Can you make a video for finishing in the post and how to read angles to finish in the post
@davidlarkins2376
@davidlarkins2376 4 жыл бұрын
The angles are created with offensive movement, as players cut the seams will open up. Also always watch past the defender in front of you and pay attention as well to how defense is moving in the paint, whether they're paying attention or if they are out of position. I suggest working on blow by moves to beat the 1st line of deffense and finishing over and around the second line

@davidlarkins2376
@davidlarkins2376 4 жыл бұрын
@Arinze m13 Crossover, I really suggest mastering that and adding a hesitation, there simple moves but they are very effective if used right, remember when working on these moves try to stay as low as possible, imagine your shoulder touching your defenders hips, that's how low you need to be when blowing by defenders

You may need lower body and core strength, try chair squating, one legged squats and planks, if you want to use weights I suggest squats at a low weight, go down slow with about a 5-7 second count and drive up at a high speed controlled. Also deadlifts and hack squats also nothing beats just jumping, one feet 2 feet while staying controlled and balanced. My suggestion would be a great starting point because there are tons of different exercises you can do
@CFrancisBasketball
@CFrancisBasketball 4 жыл бұрын
I suggest dynamic Core exercises. Basic planks aren't as useful. So if u do a plank. Have some arm and or legs movements so u can practise counterbalance stabilising. Most great S&C coaches for bball will have an element of this in a programme. (Basic plank foundation endurance is still important though). E.g. plank on a Swiss ball with arm circles or other movement patterns. E.g. plank while moving a cone or light dumbbell across different planes.
