Sometimes it's easier to pull your truck to a different spot in the yard. If the ground is uneven, find u a lil incline area. Sometimes it cause the hinges to adjust, and you may have to lift up on them a lil bit while pushing them close.

If anybody wanna know what a strong Queen look like, look no further!!! Salute Queen you really let 'em know it's not a game! Those containers cross the oceans and pick up all that salt and moisture, and it's just a cycle of that creating rust in some spots that make it hard to open and close those doors. Not to mention the bang ups from careless drivers lol. Ugh I'm having flashbacks😂 Make sure you go to Home Depot or Lowe's and grab some pipes, the longer the better for leverage, but cut them so it's comfortable for you. Great tip about the WD-40, don't know why I never tried that🤦🏾‍♂ Thank you for pointing out those pins being in the right position too. You may get a crane operator who is patient and will wait for you, but I've worked with some that will move on to another truck if your pins aren't right and if you think they're coming right back once you got it together😂😂 Think again! Because there might be twenty other trucks lined up waiting and if that crane goes to another spot because of you...Lord help you is all I can say! Another superb video, Keep up the hustle👑💯

You’re so kind! I appreciate that so much! & ya I never thought about what all the containers go thru til I started messing with them! & I have a love/hate relationship with the ports lol, there are times where it’s fun, easy and quick.. then other times I’m sitting and waiting in line for the longest just to drop a empty!! Plus driving manual makes it a whole workout in itself, but I try not to complain and be thankful for the experience and pay. All I know is it’s Bayport > Barbours Cut all day errday 💯😭😂!!! Again, thank you for always supporting and commenting!

Hi, I see that you're running under Schneider's authority (or maybe I'm wrong). I'm doing OTR right now but I'm going to Schneider to the drayage division O/Op, out of Houston. I know it will take me a bit to get used to it, though. I hope and I want to believe that Schneider trains their owner operators and teach them some tricks about the chasis, going in and out of the port. I hope they do it!!! 😆 BTW, I think I saw you once in La Porte, I was making a left turn at the Barberous Cut Rd towards the Gulf Wind warehouse. Be safe out there. Good video! 👍🏻

Hey congratulations on that move, I think that’s dope! I never worked for Schneider but I’ve been with a couple port companies now and honestly, a lot of them “train” for like a day but it’s not hard to get the hang of where to go. & of coarse whenever I forget something ask another driver or port worker (they ride around in white pickup trucks) and they gonna tell you!

Hi, thanks for sharing. Do you have any recommendations for port driving jobs in the Houston area that would hire me with 3 months' experience?
@niqueybangz
@niqueybangz Жыл бұрын
Hey there are so many! Canal cartage is a good one ! JD express, Jetco, Perez Logistics, Featherweight just to name a few. Just make sure you’re getting paid MINIMUM 1300 a week, even with little experience! Some companies pay by the load, by the day (300-350) or by the hour, but it should still equal out to 1300+ cuz the time and work you putting in! you can always ask questions I’m happy to help or even other drivers at the port , that’s how I learned so much lol... or those lil white pickup trucks at the port, everyone should be happy to help.

Hey Niquey we really appreciate the info, it’s very helpful for ppl looking to get into port work. I have a few questions if you have time. I’m out of Houston, how long are the days doing intermodal? I found one company that would hire me with no port experience but the pay is really low compared to what I do now. Thank you in advance if you have time.
@niqueybangz
@niqueybangz Жыл бұрын
Hey so the days start at 6am & can go to 6pm , those are port hours but depending on the loads your company gets , you might get off around 3/4 some days. so that’s the tiring part & why I don’t post like that 😓 but the pay shouldn’t be any less than 1300 weekly PERIOD, even with no experience, it’s not hard to get trained on how to get in and out, after 1 or 2 times you get the job done! Feel free ask away, I make videos to help.
@danielboston8806

@@niqueybangz Oh ok. They’re offering me an hourly wage w/ time n half after 50(never heard of that one). But atleast they would train me. Afterwards I could move around. Your vids and answers are helping me make a decision. You truly are a blessing with your willingness to help! Thank you and much respect. Also as long as I get the hrs(50+) I’d be making around what you stated.

@@danielboston8806 ok nice! Definitely get that experience and if they end up being trash you can move around! there’s so many options with port jobs, even if you just drive around the Pasadena area you’ll see what I mean lol. & you’re so welcome, I wish you the best & lmk how you like it!

@niqueybangz Жыл бұрын
@@erickmclark international long shoremans association (local union #24) phone number 713-923-2564 if you wanna work directly for the port. But there are a wide variety of companies that pay you well with your own trucks. Try Jd express or Canal cartage. I used to work with them as a company driver/ independent contractor making 1500$ weekly minimum/home daily.

All of them tbh, just go to a truck stop near the port and see all the different names on the truck or ask a driver there, the hardest part is finding one worth staying with. JD express was pretty good
