🌟🌟Hi Miss,I was wondering is this video about the first lesson/section that come up first in Homeostasis? My teacher not here for the week and she printed out a booklet on Homeostasis. I don't find the textbook helpful (your video really helped me out with the nerves and muscle topic) On the booklet it said.16.1 Principles of homeostasis,16.2 Feedback Mechanisms,16.3 Hormones and the regulation of blood glucose concentrations,16.4 Diabetes and its control. Thank you for your time and have a good day:)

i dont want to be a pain, but first it said that the protein adenylate cyclase is activated, but then in another slide it referred to the protein as adenyl cyclase. Is that a mistake, or is it the same thing, and if so then which one do we use. Loved the video btw x
@samsonyonathan5246

its the same thing . Adenylate is more commonly used though .

Thank you! So with insulin, are both protein carriers and protein channels incorporated via vesicles + intracelluar chemicals, whilst exclusively protein channels have their tertiary structures changed to be more.. permeable?
@MissEstruchBiology
@MissEstruchBiology 3 жыл бұрын
Hello, 👋🏻 It is just channels in the vesicles and it is the carrier's tertiary structure that is altered by insulin binding.
@jamesklieve4620
@jamesklieve4620 3 жыл бұрын
@@MissEstruchBiology Thank you for getting back to me, - At minute 6:00 the text says 'this changes the tertiary structure of the channel proteins,' and at minute 7:00 the vesicle diagram is titled 'more protein carriers are incorporated into cell membranes,' were these slight mishaps? - Even if there might be (or maybe not this time?) the occasional mistake, by watching your to-the-point videos I have been more or less smashing the exam questions (super unusual of me), thank you for helping me so much ☺️

During stress, adrenaline level in the blood is increased, and adrenaline causes glucose level increase, and insulin level decrease in the blood. Why is that? Isn't the purpose of adrenaline to prepare the body for fight/flight? I understand that increased glucose level means more energy for the body, but isn't insulin needed for the body to actually use the glucose?
@abubakrkhan1705
@abubakrkhan1705 Жыл бұрын
Insulin is the hormone produced when the Blood glucose levels are too high. In the production of adrenaline, Insulin receptors are inhibited which reduces the chance of insulin decreasing glucose in the blood, as glucose is needed for respiration as that's the 'flight or fight response; as for using up glucose; that will be done by respiring muscle cells when your body is in that fight or flight situation.
@student8122
@student8122 4 ай бұрын
insulin isnt needed for the the body to use the gluose its to get rid of the glucose but in this case we will need the glucose for respriation whivh is fight of flight.
