Good idea on returning the wood, I used 2 eighths thick paneling, the stuff you may see in peoples basement walls. The lighter your build is the better and will save on gasoline.

it took me over 18 months to complete my build, so i completely understand your issues.... so many things you think you want at the start, then decide not because of time constraints, finances, lack of knowledge, the list goes on, then you double back and decide you need things after you've built past, when you could've done it easily.... LOL.... trust me Elisa you are doing great, just keep chugging along and it will be done and then you will be done and take time to enjoy the fruits of your labor!!!

This has been, by far, my favorite van build series on KZfaq! Watching this has solidified the idea that I don't want to do a full van build myself. Keep up the good work! I want to also say - gien your attention to detail I think the van is going to be very nice when completed.

This is why all of us subscribers LOVE watching you do your thing. I also think you are super funny (you can tell you are having some fun behind the scenes). You are a very pleasant woman. 😍The way you speak and explain to us what you are thinking. It was a good idea , imo, to put up the plywood instead of the T and G. Even though I subscribed a while back, your channel doesn’t show up on my feed, until this morning. All building take way longer than what most people think. You just don’t rush and build what you want. The finishing products are what makes it YOU. Cheers.

Elisa, As we all believe you are doing an amazing job!!! First, As a video production person (no KZfaq video) your audio is great as you took the time to learn about audio. Filming a how to video is very hard and most don't understand that part. Editing is a whole other world with so many programs out there can be over whelming. Thanks for sharing you journey with all of us.I have a cargo sprinter van and because of you I am considering doing a few changes to it.I don't think I would or could do as much as you have done as I also use the van for my video production in hauling equipment and other uses.I could go on and on but you have work to do on the van. Thanks again for sharing.

The most important thing that most van owners, whether or not they built the van out themselves, forget, is weight and balance. Remember that 32 gallons of water is going to take 266 pounds off of your useful load. You have to be aware of how much you are loading that thing up When you go on a trip all packed. Super critical!

Nice job on the fresh water tank! Excellent job you're doing. And I think I prefer the blue-ish nail polish! ☺ Perfect ceiling installation and I think it looks much better than the wood, especially all the weight savings. It's almost like home. Soon.....good luck with the rest.

The birch ceiling looks great but the joints will crack over time, so that's something to be aware of. There's just too much movement and vibrations in a van for the joints in the ceiling to handle. You might want to place a small timber time over those joints, when you get the cracks.

Grab a calendar, go out in the Van and look around and see what kind of job you've done. You have done a fantastic job so far. Mark a due date sometime in July , that's the day you wanna have the Van finished? Set a date of August 1 for your first trip out . I suggest going to the motorcycle Rally in South Dakota. Be a trip of a lifetime and you don't need Motorcycle . Hang the Calendar. up on the mirror of the Van.

I absolutely love the time that you're taking in your build. It is incredibly inspiring and I'm looking forward to doing the same. I also agree that it is simply HOT in Florida right now. I just came here from NJ for vacation and fishing and WOW, it's HOT, Lol. Nevertheless, continue to take your time, because the knowledge that you're learning along the way will reap tremendous benefits down the road, when things may break down or if you ever want to upgrade some things. Thanks Again!!

You might want to put some wood strips across the joints on the ceiling. You might find that during traveling and any flexing in the wood the wood filler falls out. Using a strip of wood, it allows for some flex,

1000w isn't bad if it's for a short time, like a coffee machine. Good investment if you have enough amp batteries, if you enjoy coffee a lot. I would bring one of those plastic funnel supports so I I could just put a filter in it and make coffee by pouring hot water in it. Tea is my main drink though.

My parents are in Florida and I like to visit once or twice a year but winter is best for a visit. I have to wait 6 months but I miss them! It's fun to go. Edit: 32 gallons is a pretty good amount. I figure I need 25 for boon-docking for 2 weeks, and that includes a good buffer. I just plan for the distant future when I retire, and I may try out van camping.

Hi Elisa, I am Jim. It is fun working on these vans, and most definitely takes time deciding on everything. I have a 2002 GMC Savana I have been working on for a while. Have the webasto like you ( used it in Wisconsin in Feb, works great and I think you will be very happy with it ), also a split electrical currently. An inverter and batteries in the rear for the webasto and other things, and a ecoflow in the front for smaller things. However I will change that to just one large system in the back, but I already had the ecoflow so used it. Solar panel, maxxfan, etc. Then I switched gears to upgrade my axle ( for future plans ), a 3 inch lift, Rims and larger e rated tires. Looking forward to some travel shortly and hopefully finish my interior in a few months. Have done lots of other mechanical and other stuff. Long winded way of saying it is an evolutionary process of deciding what works best for you, and how you will use your vehicle. I'm a fan of the GMC body style and 350 motor, nice power for pulling stuff. I enjoy watching what you are doing when I get a chance. It is fun to see other peoples ideas and choices for sure. Your van looks very lovely, and is coming together nicely. i wish you great success and happiness with your rig. And ofcourse many happy and exciting travels :)! All the best. Have a wondeful and Blessed day. Maybe I will meet you out there sometime.
