Today I am converting my Farmall Super C from 6 volts to 12 volts, and replacing the generator with an alternator. This is a common "update" to old tractors that are used often, and I'll walk you through the process.

And that Mr. Pete, is what separates you from the other many KZfaqrs. Your knowledge and experience as an engineer and demonstrating it to us is great. Your dads fabricating and wielding is above par. Both you and your wife have a blessed day.

When I was younger we had a Super C,H,and a Super MTA(my favorite). My dad and I would watch your videos and it would give us good phone conversations over the past couple years. I lost him on July 19th this year. Sure miss talking with him, but your videos help keep his memory close. Thank you.

Pete!!!! You tell everyone you were an Architect in the past....but are you sure you weren't a 1) Mechanical Engineer 2) Electrical Engineer 3) Civil Engineer 4) Millwright 5) All of the above?? You sure seem to know a lot more than any Architect I know......and I know a lot of them!! Also, I sure hope your Dad received a big pork chop or two for that nice looking bracket he fabricated. Boy, I (and probably a lot of your viewers) would love to have a neighbor like your Father! Keep up the "Good work". Rich from PA

Pete you are a great teacher. I used to have a Super C too when I was farming. And you are spot on that is such a handy tractor to drive around the farm. In fact my dad always referred to it as his favorite “chore tractor”. But I hope you don’t have some regrets about not upgrading the head lights. You never know when you may want to take your wife out to the DQ some night. Thanks for all of your dedication and efforts to make and post such high quality videos.

Hi Pete, I too am a 1953 model. All my life 53 has been my year and even the number 53 has been one of my favoured numbers. The number on Herbie the love bug Volkswagen Beatle was 53. I really liked you story of your neighbour who liked his tractor ‘cause it was a 53. I though I was the only one like that. We are all likely that way.

I had lots of 6 volt troubles too, going thru several cheap aftermarket regulators and then adjusting them but they wouldn't hold the right voltage, too little then too much. What a pain. But then I bought an expensive regulator from Brillman. What a difference, trouble free from then on!

I really enjoy improvising when needed. When I work on an item and need to remove parts, I still save the parts but I will put the parts in a baggie and place a piece of paper in the bag of what the part is just in case I should ever need it again. And that has happened! I enjoy and comprehend for the most part schematics on certain pieces of machinery. It’s nice to see your dad. He is very knowledgable

Pete the" worm" ate me as soon as you started switching wires ,beyond household wiring I leave it to those who know what they are doing like you. My question is why switch to 12v at all ,I'm sure there is an answer. My philosophy is if it work leave it alone *LOL* I'm in awe of you and your knowledge of these old machines .I 'm sure that few who buy a bunch of Pork chops from you realise how multi functional you are. its fascinating watching you and listening to your philosophy on life, young folks could learn a lot from your vlogs..
