In the last video, I tried burning diesel in a Coleman 425E two burner camping stove. The results were smelly and smokey, so I kept looking for something better to burn diesel. That's when I discovered the Teleflex MBU V3. A military grade burner that runs on JP8 and diesel!

Hi there, I was one of the mechanical designers of that unit. Thank you for good review. If there is anything technical you would like to know - please ask. I'll be happy to share what I know.

@@dannynova3412 I just bought a complete military kitchen trailer (MKT 99) that has 6 or 7 burners in it. I want to use it off grid for an event and hook it up to batteries and solar. Can you tell me how much power one burner will draw so I can configure a decent system for it. Thanks

I’ve brought hellfire missiles to fistfights, and firefights, both with equally sufficient outcomes. Bonus, my brothers and I are here to go camping with our kids. The MBU is a beast!

Absolute expert in describing this device I'm 3000 miles from US coast, looking to get one, limited utility service's in UK, got off plane Kansas, was able to shower for 2 dollars at miller's park camp Liberty, 2010, great service, highly recommend.

What a cool machine, I love it, good find & fix, not the sort of thing you go hiking with, but yeah a smaller version would be great for campers, boats, etc. the compressor seemed quiet & cant use much power either, boiling about 10ltrs in 10 minutes is pretty awesome. I would like to see you get the Coleman going properly on deisel, that would be handy camping with deisel 4wd for a 1 fuel solution. Cheers

I am running my optimus no 00 on shell ultra diesel and hope to get the benifits of the cleaning agents. It cooks slightly lower temperature than kerosene and i prefer it as it was too hot

Can you comment on, explain, or do a video on your ammo box controller? Sweet video, I came across a M2A stove and did a quick check to see what i've come across. I'm guessing that is diesel too? Anywho, figuring out the power hookup (controller and converter) would be my biggest hold-ups, as i'd want this for prepping/camping, would be curious to see what further you can share on these units.

@@CampingYurts clean fuel is paramount! A drop of water will blow the flame out, a speck of sand at best will ruin an afternoon and at worst ruin the carb. Control panel- it should be waterproof but often isn't. There's a gasket between the front and back and the buttons. The glow plug stays lit for about 30-60 seconds until a self sustaining flame is established. However, water in fuel causes flame out, so stop what you're doing, put everything down and restart the burner. Or do like the cooks do and jam a plastic utensil in the start button, forcing the glow plug to stay on, tearing the rubber boot of the button panel allowing water in the control panel.

I came across you by accident. Re the attempt with the Coleman stove, you were always on hard ground there. Any multi fuel pressure stove has smaller jets for higher BTU fuels. Kerosene jets are smaller than gasoline. About ten years ago while the US Army was engaged in its attempts to become a one fuel force they came up with a light that could be a small cooker, can't remember if it was a tent heater too. As best I can remember, it was like any pressure lamp with a large gas generator. The orifice and mantle detached and there was either a multi jet ceramic opening for the heater, or perhaps it was just like the multi jet Bunsen flame that plays onto the mantle in a Tilley kerosene lamp. I found details of this and posted it on a camping forum I used to write for, but our indexing wasn't clear, and a quick search hasn't found a link to the lamp/heater. The desire to be a one fuel army confused me a bit. I can remember attempts at Diesel motorcycles, but in the case of lamps and small stoves, the Army could never be one fuel. Helicopters don't run on Diesel, and jet fuel is pretty much kerosene. The logistics of moving kerosene vs highly specialised stoves and lights. I'm no gasoline light and stove fan, though I have one of each, but the ability to requisition it in the field must also be considered. Your unit I presume to be meant to be at the base of a large frier or boiling pan. The sense of using EMP sensitive electronics against simple pressure and manual controls befuddles me. Wonder what in the "One Fuel" Army they used to preheat the Diesel lamp/cooker I mentioned earlier? The Lamp/cooker was the BriteLyt kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jrmga5pyzMqZkqM.html britelyt.com/why-britelyt/

that MBU V3 is a newer unit, it burns up to 60,000 BTUs and i know everything there is about them ( I am a Cook in the Military ) there are codes that will tell you whats wrong with them< mostly E005, E006, it means the filters are clogged mostly....the Army has us run a runtime maintenance on them every 50 hours of run time, which is a basic air filter and inline fuel filter on the inside of the tank...i can help you out on any of the info you need and the up-keep it takes to run those things nice move on the power converter supply but they all ready sell a unit to do that. Teleflex mbu v3 power converter ms0160 cooking burner its about $550 though but you need the connection hoses too.....anyway let me know if you have any questions?
