How to repair a LUBA AWD 5000 Robotic Mower - I broke the right wheel off of my Mammotion Luba AWD 5000 robot mower and serviced it myself. The LUBA 5000 is serviceable and I want to show you in this video how I did it. The complete repair from disassembling to reassembly. I hope this helps someone out there when in need of a repair video for the Luba AWD 5000 robot mower.

That is very impressive. I want to thank you for this video because it answered the one question I had, which had to do with the customer service for these things. I noticed that they were located outside of the US and with a foreign phone number and this kept me from going ahead with the purchase. Performance and customer service are equally important to me so the information you gave was exactly what I needed. I am an avid DIY'er and repair guy, but not sure I would have been as bold as you to go through the repair you had. Great video! Probably the best I've seen on KZfaq, as the camera caught everything you did pretty clearly and at a perfect pace. Big thumbs up!

If they had just put quick disconnects on the motors half of this tear down wouldn't even be necessary. Hopefully this won't be too common of a repair. That's awesome you got it repaired. I still think though from your original video... that the cable that runs to the axials should have connectors, so you don't have to go through all those steps including de-soldiering and then re-soldiering. Maybe in future versions of the Luba they'll take that into account. Since you had your Luba open though, I was wondering if you looked at the battery and how difficult it would be to swap that out? Any thoughts about that? Thanks for these videos, very educational.

You are very impressive! I doubt many would have the skill and nerve to tackle a job like this. I'm glad you got your Luba mowing again and your experience is a warning to others not to drop it. I was thinking about the rubber boots on the front. Perhaps owners might be treating them with rubber conditioner to help extend their life since it looks like a major job to change out if they become prematurely dried out.

Actually anyone can willingly drop something and it not be an accident. But, I understand what point you are making. Logically, owner is making the point to be careful with the mower and do your best to not drop it if one is holding it at an elevated position as the front axel could break. Be WARNED!!! @@mr.c6674

well done , ordered my Luba (2) AWD 5000 this morning , wanted to see the internals just to see how repairable it is ( compared to my 10Y old RoboMow RS630 ) seems a bit more complex , when i did see a luba inside ( in the store ) i was surprised that the electronics PCB are not better protected , like the stuff you put on the connectors and wires , when i see my robo internals (example head of the docking station ) its all over the PCB board ( and still gives " problems " after many years of service )

I'm glad to see your video after the last one. I'm on the fence about buying one. I admire the engineers who designed it and from all reviews that I see, it functions admirably. I am concerned about negative reports about response to customers who are not social media influencers. That mower has how many motors? Four for the wheels. Two for the blades and probably another one for the height adjustment? I've read of someone who had one wheel stop working. Motor or board? Unfortunately it was a commenter and I'll never know how it was resolved. Sudden success brings about growing pains and I wish Mammotion well. I'm unsure if I want to risk buying version 1.1 though. Nice about the omni wheels. I'm surprised they didn't send those along to you just for the advertising.

I had that axle broken when I recieved my first Luba. It was probably damaged in delivery... They have picked it up and sent me a new one. Than my lift motor broke because there was a lot of grass and no space for lifting blades.. I had to replace lift motor and motherboard. They have sent me parts for free. (they also offered me that they will pick up luba and service it for me... I tought that replacing parts by my self is faster and easier for me than packing it.. I don't have original box anymore) Than I noticed that one of the rubber seals on the motor is already broken... But the worst thing is that it has NEVER finished my garden yet without my help. It needs to rescue, it needs just to click the continue button in my app couple times a day... I am very dissapointed with this product. The previous robot had much better construction. It could handle small branches, moles, cut under trampoline... This thing gets stuck almost everywhere :-( I wish they made wireless Robomow RS 630 with RTK, that would be best for my garden. I have to mention that 4200 square meters zone with really thick grass.... Yes I have prepared my garden and cut everythig with my tractor... My robomow usually worked weeks without need of any help. Only when some large branches felt or something unexpected happened I had to help the robomow. My neigbour has a husqvarna.. he turns it on on spring, turns it of on the end of season and does not have to do anything...

Thank you for that feedback. After a couple of months of having Luba and mowing the max 1.25 acres with it, twice a week, I definitely have to go out and click buttons and assist Luba, very frequently. I have found it stuck in the middle of my backyard more than once. I have no idea why it got stuck or stopped mowing in those areas. When it works, it does a great job at helping with lawn care. But I agree, there are some adjustments needed to improve the overall user experience. Thanks for watching and commenting! 👍

@@JustinsProject exactly... I really hate it when it stops for "no reason" and it is waiting only to click continue button. Than it continues with no need to rescue, clean blades or anything... I hope that they will solve it with some software updates. It is only time to time when it really needs some real assistance.

I can't believe Mammotion did not provide carrying handles on the unit. Duh. Also they didn't shape the Luba so it can be laid on its back with stability to service the blades. It has a rounded top! Duh again!

One thing I have learned about Mammotion is that they listen to the feedback. I appreciate that about them. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻

My favorite thing from the 2 videos is the first video of blaming them for absolutely everything and the next video Back tracking on everything 😅😅

When someone or a business proves me wrong - I can admit it. Do I think the bracket should have broke from a small drop? NO. However, my main concern was being able to service the Luba. Now I know that is possible.

Can't believe how awkward it is to do simple things in it. I have a husqvarna 430x for about 5 years and doing anything on it is so easy and simple. Swedish ergonomics definitely better than the chinese

I must say ..... very impressive. However, it does appear that you are proceding in a manner of someone who has no intention of ever putting it back together. I am a bit skeptical of the full project.

I am not sure I follow the skepticism. I had every intention of repairing it but honestly thought I was not going to get the parts. Once I did, I wanted to share my experience on how I fixed mine. Hopefully, it helps someone out there. I build and repair just about anything. I am not trying to be despective in any way. Thanks for the feedback.

Their customer service went above and beyond!?! Their customer service is non-existent! I purchased many extra sets of blades and a housing roof with my original purchase. They never sent to these extra parts. 2 months later I got an email saying my parts are on the way but they re used the same FedEx tracking number they use for my original Luba shipment. I let customer service know immediately... Six weeks later I got an email saying that they're busy and they'll get to me eventually. It's been another 2 months and I still haven't heard back from them! Mamotion robbed me.
