To make a long story short, the SIM was provided by the carrier without a PIN and it did not work. I added and removed the PIN via an iPhone, and it did not work. I then added and removed the PIN via an Android phone, and it works now.

Thank you for watching and commenting. I don't believe I included this part in the video (even though I recorded it), but the LUBA mower has been my top choice to purchase over the past few years due to its AWD capability and design. As you can see in the video, I have these water runoff swells in my front yard, and there's probably no other mower that could handle them as effectively. I appreciate your kind comment, as I understand the tendency for reviewers to echo what the manufacturer wants them to say. Many reviewers tend to create advertisements, showcases, or other types of videos that blur the lines between genuine reviews and promotional content. Any feature or brand mention can be seen as an endorsement for the product, even in a negative review, as there's no such thing as bad publicity in the media. For me, it's important to maintain my own personal ethics, which is why I choose not to accept any type of sponsorship. While I understand why other creators do it and I don't fault them for it, I believe it's unethical for me personally.

I bought the 1000 model initially. The area coverage prediction is the only thing I have an issue with. My lawn is 220sqm and it couldn't quite complete that without a recharge. Although the customer service was helpful it appears that the area claimed is very optimistic. Whilst it doesn't matter that it takes longer to complete by including a recharge, I decided to upgrade to the 3000 model. They accepted a return and refund with a free return using FedEx so no complaints with customer service. If they had been a little more realistic about the coverage capability to each model I would have gone for the 3000 model straightaway. Remember to keep the packaging as it is very necessary should you need to return it. Overall a brilliant product. My lawn has never looked better.

@@ModernDayTech it’s something I need to do. I had it all last year and only flipped them one time. I mowed my acre lot twice a week. I needed to do it more often but I was lazy. This year I’ll probably flip them once a month and see how it cuts then.

Hello ! thanks for the very instructive video - i am considering buying it as a replacement for a traditional Stihl iMow 632 which gets stuck in my yard without telling me because it has no GPS and 2W drive… My question is : i have 2 zones to mow, and the location of the RTK antenna seems to be a factor - i CANNOT have direct view of the antenna from ANY of the 2 zones of the garden, one is behind and the other is in front of the house. Do you think LUBA could manage it and find its way ? I noticed that yourself have sort of a U-Shaped garden, does it know where it is all the time ? Thanks

Hi! You're very welcome. Placement of RTK is absolutely the most important part and probably the hardest part to find a good location that has 360 degrees of sky, far enough away from the house and trees, and still having a power source. Thus, I highly recommend mounting it on the house near the roof. Mammotion will have a solar panel option coming out soon, so I will be doing that when it comes out. You can see my RTK station setup right now in the video, and it's not pretty or ideal, but it's a good temporary location until I can mount it on the house. I tested over 10 different locations with a portable battery, and the locations that had full view of the sky worked 100% of the time but I couldn't use any of them except for the location in the video cause I didn't have a fulltime power source, although I still think it's too close to the house and when the trees fill it, it might cause issues. So, I'm going to have to mount the RTK and solar soon. But to answer your question, ever since finding that location for the RTK station, the LUBA has been able to navigate all 6 zones that I have set up and its way back to that base station day and night. Some people have mentioned that it doesn't work at night, but in my testing of running it starting at 8 pm, in the morning it finished multiple zones with multiple recharges without any issues except for that I had to leave the gate open overnight, which I mention the gate challenge in the video. I can go into the app at any time and know where the LUBA is as long as it's connected to WiFi; when it's a little further away from the house, it won't connect via WiFi, so hopefully the Mammotion and I can work out the mobile network issue so I can be in constant communication no matter how far it is. Looks great really. Apologies for the possible following dumb question, I have a 2000m square yard. What if I make 2 different zones of 1000m square each, and purchase the 1000m square model. Would that work? I guess it would take longer to have both sections well cut, but would there be any technical limitation preventing the robot to do its job correctly? The price difference is quite significant for the higher model you see : ) Appreciated, great content

Hi, thank you for watching, and remember, there's no such thing as a dumb question. I don't have a definitive answer for you, so you'll want to talk to the company support to confirm my understanding. Not only is there a real battery size/life difference between the models, but they also put on a software limit. They won't let you map more than what your mower is rated for. It's kind of a shame that they imposed a software limit because in my head, and I'm sure in many others', we don't care how often it comes back and charges up; we'd rather save money on the initial cost so the lower rated unit will do. But with that software limitation lock, they prevent it, and I don't understand why. I don't know if there are other reasons that haven't been explained. I advise you reach out to customer service and let us know what you find out.

Overall do you trust it to mow when you are out of town? or does it often get stuck and loose connection? Also it appears you have a covered ground floor patio near your base station, why not just place base on patio to keep it out of the weather? I have a similar situation and Mammotion tech support said that it would work fine when I sent them a picture. Just wondering if they gave me bad information. Thanks for your video, I'm so close to purchasing this just wanted to get more reviews now that it is hopefully fully available.

Yes and no. Once I mount the RTK station on my house properly, I will trust it 100% when on vacation. I had some trouble finding a suitable location for the RTK station that wasn't too close to the house or to a tree but still had power. Long story short, I tested a lot of different placements; most of them were not feasible for more than a test because I didn't have power at the testing location, but I could temporarily run extension wire. The location of the RTK station in the video is ideal for power (although slightly off, I can fix it), but it's still a little too close to the house, and once the trees fill in, I might have issues, but it's good enough for now until I can mount it properly. Since finding that location for the RTK station, it hasn't lost signal once, but spring is here so it's going to be no time until it covers up too much of the sky. As for placement of the base on the patio, I would think it would work, but you would need to screw it down so it doesn't move. A lot of people build houses for their bots. I hope this helps you, but if you have any other questions, let me know.

Does it ever get stuck so you have to lift it up and re-position it manually? I have this issue with my Landroid Vision which is so annoying and unreliable, to the point where I'm seriously considering purchasing the Luba.

I did when I didn't have the RTK station where it is now. Since I found the unsightly place that you see in the video, I haven't had any issues but the location is still not ideal for me cause I think its still too close to the house and trees but its working for now but I might have an issue when the trees fill in. Hopefully the solar panel will come out soon so I can mount the RTK near the roof to have the best location. I could do it now, but I rather only go up there once.

Some people say this robot doesn't work at night how have you found it manages? Also it seems to struggle with going through the gate even though it seems wide and clear enough

I didn't have any issues at night. As far as gate, I should have mapped the path over a little further away from the gate post, but it normally stops and turns and takes it time during all path transision. It does a simlar thing when it crossed the drive and even stop briefly twice on the driveway path.

Few things from a Luba 1 owner. Please do your research software issues zero support from customer service. Your Luba 2 running into the mailbox the reason the camera isn’t being used for vision. That’s still software locked along with yard art.

Yea I heard there were some upset luba 1 owners when the new app came out but I also heard they fix it. For Luba 2, the softwork works good but feel free to tell us your experience. As far as the mailbox goes, I was surprised it didn't see it but also surprised it didn't hit the bumper. Its must have been the perfect angle/position to miss both the bumper and the camera cause the camera works with other taller things, just not small things laying on the ground. I now have the mailbox marked as a no go zone.

How well does it work on a yard that has trees that shed small sticks and lots of leaves?

Great question. I have a lot of trees and small sticks in the yard all the time too. It pretty much runs right over them, and you can hear it chopping up the branches. Sometimes a branch or two will get caught in the front or side of the mower, but the mower just keeps on moving with the stick sticking out and eventually falls off. I haven't had it long enough to get a lot of leaves though, but the few that show up now, it has no issue with. The bigger issues you'll probably have to think about are, one, the placement of the RTK stations with so many trees. Having a place far enough from the house, far enough from trees, with a power source, and a great view of the skies is nearly impossible, so mounting near the roofline is the best option. Secondly, with it cutting up small sticks, how long will the small razor blades last? Only time will tell.

How's their Customer Service? Do they answer a phone, or do Chat Session? What do you do if it breaks? Are there local dealers who will work on it?

Customer service is very slow, and their online chat times out, so it's best to use email. However, they did help get my 4G up and running, although it seemed like they were just throwing darts until one stuck. But that's a lot of advanced tech these days. I've seen some online dealers/repair shops that specialize in robot lawn mowers, but they are not something you'll want to ship, so you'll want to check your local area. Just remember, this is tech, not a mechanical lawn mower. And tech moves at a million light year speed compared to mechanical things that haven't really changed much in 50 years. You have to understand that going in.

I'm in total panic. Bought a Luba 3000 and I was so optimistic I discarded all the packaging. The Bluetooth only connects for a. few seconds-the mower moves a few feet and stops. Need to re connect. Repeat and repeat. Turned off Bluetooth on most of the household devices. Who can help. The text support had one suggestion-remove the key and replace it. No luck.

HATE those zero point/tank turns! It should NEVER do those, they damage the lawn!

Yes, me too. I wish the setting would work 100% of the time. But it seems that when it's positioning, it will use the zero point turns even if you have the multi-point turned on.
