Let’s make delicious plain Pancakes with an ice cream topping! We also enjoy light fluffy pancakes which are popular in Japan now, but these pancakes are filling and can be served as a light meal.
How to Make Pancakes

100g Cake Flour (3.5 oz)
1 tsp Baking Powder
1 Egg
3 tbsp Sugar
70ml Milk (2.4 fl oz)
2 tsp Vegetable Oil
½ tsp Vanilla Extract
Icing Sugar
Whipped Cream
Vanilla Ice Cream
Roasted Diced Almonds
Mint Leaves
Maple Syrup

If you need to use regular flour in Germany, try 405 instead of 550. :) Check out the label and choose the product with the lowest protein content. In Japan, cake flour is called Hakurikiko (薄力粉) and it has about 8% or less protein content. It is used in tempra batter and most Japanese households have it in their kitchen. ;) ShanonOkazakiChan

I am also from Germany and I found a recipe for cake flour substitute. It says to add 2 tbsp of starch to a cup of all purpose flour minus 2 tbsp. Sift the mixture a few times for the ingredients to mix well. I will just try this. Breakfast time hehe

Type 550 is good for every recipe and it's a little healthier than Type 405. But if you only make these kind of things once in a while, it doesn't really matter. ^ ^

jammy jam From experience working there, I can say that you can't get pancakes this good for less than $10 there. And now I know why the pancakes always came out blotchy too lol. That place is a joke, or at least the one I worked at was.

Poor Francis, such a loyal friend to chef and she loved him so much.. I'm sure she misses him terribly. My dog passed away a year ago at 19 and not a day goes by that I don't think about her. I know Francis had some of the food (that was safe for dogs to eat) off camera. I can tell by how excited he gets when chef eats. I wish a reel was available of him trying the food after it was cooked. It was his show after all :-)

I've tried them today aand they're absolutely delicious and super fluffy. I skipped the vanilla extract and added a pinch of salt, then served them with smoked salmon and eggs. Awesome!

I made this recipe today ( with regular cake flour found in my country tunisia) and they were great and super tasty, all my family liked them, it is my first successful pancake, this is my favourite recipe and the chef gives really helpful simple directions :)
