Ingredients
1. Rice powder - 2 cups
2. Coarse rice flour - ¼ cup
3. Yeast - ½ tsp
4. Grated coconut - 2 cups
5. Sugar - 1 to 1 ½ cup
6. Cardamom powder- ½ tsp
7. Salt - to taste
8. Cumin seeds (opt) -
Preparation
Preparation
1.Mix the coarse flour with water & cook stirring well.
2. Allow the yeast to puff up in a cup of water mixed with a little sugar.
3.Prepare a dough with cooked , cooled starch, yeast solution & the rice powder . set aside to ferment for 8 to 10 hours.
4.Grind the coconut with cardamom powder, mix with the fermented mix, sugar & salt adding sufficient water carefully.
5.Steam till done, about 12 to 20 minutes depending on size. in a greased flat vessel. Cut & serve when cool.
