I grew up eating in the bun form (韭菜包 - Leek Buns) as it is homemade. My husband like the dumpling form. We call it 韭菜盒 - Leek Box. I happened to ask my mom to make it as I miss eating it since I was a little girl. She made it in both the bun and box form for us. We have 2 bags full in the freezer to last us awhile.😊 My mom uses mushrooms in place of the dried shrimp, glass noodles instead of rice noodles and leek instead of chives. That's what I grew up with.😋

It may not be considered meat, but it is considered an animal that was living and breathing. That's like meat eaters loving bacon but get angry at the Chinese festival where they butcher and eat dogs. It's really tit for tat and potato and potata.
