the hub is handy for someone who doesn't have multiple rgb headers on the motherboard but still wants to power up 6 led fans (like i do) so in my case (pun intended) it's handy..
@LostinGaming0
@LostinGaming0 2 жыл бұрын
The hub can be used as a "center" for your ARGB lights. For example cooler master liquid cooler's ARGB lights can be connected to the controller. Many motherboards still has only one ARGB header. Meaning you would not be able to connect both these fans and an ARGB liquid cooler to your motherboard. With the controller you can. Also maybe some extra led strips which are ARGB too. And you can sync them up through the motherboard software. Which looks absolutely amazing in my opinion. Also you can purchase a be quiet pc case hehe :P most of those I think have a FAN controller too on the back. As do mine which is the dark base pro 900 rev 2. those have about 5 fan PWM connections. The base Sileng Wings 3 fans are connected to that in fact. So on my motherboard only the CPU fans and the one PWM for the FAN controller are connected. Nothing else.

So even if I dont have any ARGB slots on my motherboard, It will still work with the hub then?
@LostinGaming0
@LostinGaming0 9 ай бұрын
@@etycreyp7800 No. You need to have at least 1 ARGB header on your motherboard which connects to the HUB. Think of the HUB like as an extender. You connect the HUB to that one ARGB header, and you get multiple extra options to use, all of them controlled by the motherboard's software, example in case of Asus motherboards = Armoury Crate. I meant by my previous comment that, in case if you have more than just these 3 Light Wings. Let's say you have 3 case fans too which are also ARGB compatible, you can connect them to the HUB, and then the HUB to your motherboard's ARGB header and you can control all of them. Case fans + Light Wings. But you definitely need at least one ARGB header. Although in your case if you have only RGB, they might work, but I think the fans would only light up with one color. Not sure if you would even be able to change their color through the motherboards software, as then HUB requires the ARGB header to deliver the commands, if we can say that. So best to have at least one ARGB, multiple is even better.

The value of the hub, even without fan headers, is that it provides you extra power from the PSU to ensure that all of your fans get the power they need. Having a large number of fans daisy chained risks fans at the end of the chain not getting as much light or having the lighting effects behave very strangely. It's not just about having more connection points. For example, my motherboard aRGB port has a maximum of 15W. 4 of these fans would exceed that limit at certain settings.
@astanisystems
@astanisystems 5 ай бұрын
This is so true! I daisy chained 4 fans and a 24-pin angle ARGB adapter to one header, and 2 fans didn't light up properly, and eventually everything shut down afterwards. I tested just 3 fans without the 24-pin ARGB adapter on one header and it worked fine. That included ARGB hub is in such a case a godsend, especially if you're trying to power strips, adapters or argb cables alongside with your fans.

I recently picked a pack of these up in 140mm and I had the same concerns you did. Fortunately for me, my board has ample fan headers but I also already have a corsair rgb/fan hub that came with my AIO which has both fan and RGB inputs so I don't see why the be quiet one doesn't also. Anyway, spot on review!

Just came here after buying that kit thinking exactly the same, I thought it's missing the cable to join the power up, especially for the price they cost it's crazy that they didn't put one in the box. I'd rather the power cable than the useless box for the RGB any day of the week

I like the hub being I have 6 fans in my Pure Base 500DX case (3 front 2 top 1 rear) and I'm using the fans that came with my Scythe Fuma 2 (no RGB) keeping my Ryzen 9 in check. They do a great job keeping my system cool and my temperature probe shows it's a smidge cooler than the fans I had in it but it's much quieter. Now I can actually hear the 3080's fans over these when it ramps up. The problem that I've had in the past with "Daisy chaining" RGB fans is the last two in line would flutter some like they weren't getting enough juice. With the SATA putting the juice into the "box" fixes that. But with me lights are secondary to function but again that's me. They do a good job of getting that heat out from the four sticks and probably helping that teenie fan over the VRM's on the Gigabyte motherboard. I'm using Aorus RGB Fusion for RGB control. ✌🏽

Bruh, PWM and ARGB splitters are dirt cheap. I bought a 1-4 PWM splitter for 5 euros with free shipping, and 1-3 ARGB splitter for 4 euros(free shipping). I honestly would just prefer that back illumination ring was thicker, but still it's a banger of a fan, and yes, really damn quiet. Considering how Corsair and Lian Li are expensive AF when it comes to fans, these are IMO excellent budget high performing fans. Noteworthy mention also goes to Cooler Master MF Halo Gen 2 fans which are slightly cheaper but also perform well(not as quiet, but better RGB).

Thanks for the comment, a lot of micro boards, ITX boards and older boards do not have a huge number of fan headers, also cheaper and and older boards do not always have a lot, we have seen and reviewed a few that only have two headers.

Be Quiet! failed with the RGB on these fans. The diffuser is poor, which means you can easily see the individual LED's. Overall, they look like the cheap & nasty Chinese knock-off fans you get on Amazon. I terrible for always changing the fans in my set up, because something news comes out. However, Alpenföhn® Wing Boost 3 are hands down, the best aRGB fans on the market. I can't find anything with RGB on it that can match the static pressure or airflow on them.
