I love the Tokyo Revengers manga; it's so much fun. Haven't really checked out the anime yet, though. As for Chi no Wadachi, I've been wondering if I should read it now or wait until it's finished. Either way I'm absolutely gonna read it at some point. Really like Shuzo Oshimi's work.

My first draft for the script did actually go more into my experience with Inside, but it ended up taking up way too much of the video, and it didn't really add much to the overall "review". But I'll take this chance to elaborate a little further. Wall of text incoming: When I first started watching Inside when it came out, I honestly didn't like it much either. I ended up closing it down after about twenty minutes or so. The songs weren't really as funny, and I felt that he pretty much repeated the same ponts over and over again. Even now I think the more "comedy-focused" songs (like facetiming with my Mom and Sexting) are absolutely the weakest part of the special, and most of the songs don't work nearly as well on an individual level as some of his earlier work (though, to be fair, he has set the bar very high for himself). I went back to watch the rest about two days later, and for some reason my experience did a complete 180. It might have been the mindset I went into it with, but either way I suddenly found myself enjoying it a lot more. Part of it might have been that I set my expectations after the first watch, but I also think Inside works a lot better as a coherent story, even more so than his previous specials. Every part of it works to express his isolation and him escaping towards different avenues (mostly technological) as a replacement for actual human interaction and self-reflection. Even the aforementioned parts that I didn't enjoy as much do serve to enforce this narrative in some way. The moment to moment entertainment value of Inside is nowhere near approaching his previous specials, but I think it is truly more of a testament to his creativity and talent as a film maker, rather than as a comedian, which is why that was the angle I was mostly pushing in the video. Inside is certainly at a disadvantage because it's obviously going to be compared to stuf like Make Happy and what., which are both masterpieces in their own rights. I even went back and watched the entire thing again before writing the script just to make sure that my opinion wouldn't change once again, but it only made me like it even more, honestly. So yeah, I can absolutely see where you're coming from, as it sounds like your experience was quite similar to my initial reaction, but I still stand by everything I said in the video. It's also absolutely fine that you don't like it; I see why you wouldn't. I wish I could have expressed more of these nuances in the actual review, but you can probably see why that would have been a problem time management-wise. So thank you for giving me the chance to elaborate on it :)

@@Evangaard for sure, i agree with almost everything you said thanks for the wall of text, its always appreciated. youre definitely right about the filmmaker aspect since hes wanted to be a director more than the center of attention for his whole career which he succeeded with but i guess he wanted to experiment more. i got nothin to say other than i started thinking of inside not as a film but the visualizer to an album, like kanyes movies runaway and jesus is king, which helped me separate it but yeah i dont think i'll watch it again lol. i reiterate tho, you should probably make this into its own video but obviously its up to you. again obviously great channel overall, i deeply enjoy your discussion of manga and you pushing legitimate releases of manga. i hope that doesnt put any pressure on you, but just do what you feel bro
