This is how I've replaced my coolant on my Triumph Street Triple RT 2020. Coolant: Engine Ice

After flushing the old coolant, feel free to add some distilled water and flush it again a couple of times, if you're unsure that you've removed it all and you’ve changed the coolant type. I’ve pretty much squeezed every drop out of mine first so I didn’t do the distilled water. Enjoy.

What a great video mate, finally found the right one! I really liked how you edited the video and added info about triumph clippers. It’s not like I will buy them but it was nice extra touch and good thing to know 😊

Really appreciate your comment and glad it helped, I couldn’t find a video for my exact model when I had to do it so got the manual happening and thought I might just record it for others and myself next time I have to do it. But I know now it’s quite straight forward for this model. 👍

@@aussiegeekriderhey mate, quick question. Do you remember what you did for the expansion tank?
@aussiegeekrider2 ай бұрын
@mr.murica9571 yes, looked too hard to remove it, I tried to avoid removing the actual (gas/peterol) tank so I used a syringe with a flexible tube to suck out all the old coolant, then I used a pipe cleaner with a wet wipe attached to the brush to clean any residue from the bottom of the tank then refilled it. To be honest I’m not sure what would be quicker, removing the tank and wash it unde the tap or struggle how I did it. Who knows. Which ever way works for you.

lol 😂 yep, very advanced tech right there. Gotta know what it tastes like, it’s what we do lol. That way you “feel” like you’ve done it right. That’s the real definition of “hawk tuah” 😜

@@aussiegeekrider did You took out fluid reservoir also? Had to take off fuel tank and airbox or?
@aussiegeekrider19 күн бұрын
Nah, took a shortcut there. Well I think I did anyways. I’ve actually sucked out all the old coolant from the reservoir with a syringe and a short hose. I couldn’t be bothered removing more parts just for that. So once empty, I’ve used a longer bottle cleaner skinny brush with a wet wipe to clean all the residue from the reservoir. Once clean properly, refill.

On a 2009 R6 I let it run hot with the radiator cap off. Then I can top it up immediately. Is there a specific reason to close the cap when running hot like you showed?
@aussiegeekrider3 ай бұрын
You can do that too, I just didn’t want to spill any just in case. You can do it either way. No probs
@stevebolte3 ай бұрын
@@aussiegeekrider what does it mean if the engine is getting hotter and is pushing coolant out of the radiator cap? Fan didnt came on after 7:30 minutes.
@aussiegeekrider3 ай бұрын
@@stevebolteyeah, that’s the idea, if it gets hot, expands, and might overflow. If you only rev it for 20-30 seconds at first step, that’s definitely fine to leave it open. But the second time when you meant to run it till hot till the fan comes on (5 minutes for mine) I would keep the cap on just in case, I didn’t want coolant all over my garage carpet, that’s all.
@stevebolte3 ай бұрын
@@aussiegeekrider yeah I also left the cap off for 7:30 min of running and had a syringe to take it out. Used it quite often tbh. Will go for a ride later and see what happens.

What coolant did you use and what year is your bike I have a 2020 street triple 765 rs and I don’t know what coolant to use
@aussiegeekrider3 ай бұрын
Hey Daniel, I used Engine Ice. You can see the bottle at second 27 in the video. My bike is RS 2020. Seems to be working really well for me. I did have to buy 2 bottles because one bottle is half a gallon which is under 2L but the bike takes 2.1L of coolant. This meant to be one of the best coolants out there.
