We had the last ‪@Dodge‬ Durango that needed to get back to ‪@RadfordRacingSchool‬ in Phoenix. So B and I roadtripped it there, but made a few pitstops on the way. One was to check out a 71 Dodge Demon. We check out Radford's track and a few other drag strips. The Detective called me back! and we also have a few new insights on the Stolen Truck... Thank you all for your help with this truck!!

If this is some big conspiracy, please explain why the stickers were left on the truck , it was sold local? Also, it was alleged that the truck was put up for sale on FB but no one on Tom's end could find the posting.

426 wedge IS NOT A HEMI, I'd walk away if someone tried to sell me that car saying that the engine can be a 426 wedge or a 426 hemi, it can't be both

@@LibertySpam Doesn't have to be round Gen 3 hemis (2k whatever and up) does not have perfectly round CC's, the Hemi term comes from the positioning of the valves being vertical to the cylinder line as opposed to the side by side of conventional heads. Basically the Valve orientation of all conventional heads are ---- on each side Where hemi heads are Like :::: onn each side. BTW most all overhead cam engines are also Technically hemi design (Not sure about the OHC Poncho's) but any multiple valve design carried the hemi layout. And to answer your specific question, No a wedge head is the same basic head you find on every B/RB dodge BB as in the conventional head

@@crazylarryjr Small Correction, the 'Hemi' name comes from Hemispherical combustion chambers, with the Inlet and exhaust valve separated by about 22 degrees inclination from the TDC/BDC axis of the cylinder, and that leads to the valves centerline being perpendicular to that axis. Toyota's V8's and Renault's "Pentaroof combustion chamber" from the 60's and 70's four cylinders share the same sort of valve arrangement, with the French motor having an even more crazy pushrod arrangement then the Hemi. Both the Gen3 V8 'Hemi', and the Aussie 'Hemi Six' do not have Hemispherical heads, where 'hemi' was applied by the marketing specialists, not the engineers :D :D :D

It is a 426 Wedge, which is the Hemi shortblock (Hemi came later) with different pistion and specific wedge heads, high compression. Mopar came out with this engine in the early '60s with the purpose of drag racing. It is based on the 1958 350 and 361cui wedge engine making it later to the 383 and as a RB engine (high deck) to the 440 cui.

Can somebody tell mister vault person that a 426 wedge is NOT a hemi, it is a wedge. Accuracy is important after all. It is a great engine in its own right and that is absolutely a beautiful car.

According to Michigan towing laws, they were supposed to notify Tom in writing within 30 days of impound. Obviously, they didn't, so something is not right.

When they talked to the tow guy they went over that. The truck was registered in Florida so they couldn't/didn't/didn't have to get a hold of him. The police f'd up. The detective that supposedly checked out the car should definitely have gotten a hold of Tom or at least given the contact info or police report to the tow yard.

@@kolejohnson73 that’s bullshit. The report for the truck literally had toms business address for the truck and his phone number. How was the detective able to call Tom and “leave a message” if they didn’t know anything about the truck

@@J_M3444 I was talking about the tow yard, the detective and PD fucked up big time. The tow yard wouldn't have had the police report. They did a title search and it came up out of Florida. Nobody wants to do more than the absolute minimum anymore, especially government workers. I'm betting if Tom can get the phone company to pull the records there will be no phone call. I'm trying to understand why the guy that bought it won't work something out with Tom, that would be the right thing to do plus maybe then they could get the PD to help fix their screw up.

@@kolejohnson73 nah frankly in my opinion the tow yard is complicit in this as well. I went back and listened and he even said the document that the police dept obtains a tr42 form to auction the vehicle off but they didn’t even wait 30 days or try anything but a phone call then the tow company auctions the truck and collects the money for the “storage fees”. Fishy fishy

426 W (Max Wedge) 3.750 stroke x 4.25 stroke same as the 426 Hemi. It’s an RB block (raised deck) compared to the B engine. Not a cross bolted main caps, different head bolt configuration, has a six bolt crank, Hemi has eight. 383 has a 4.25 bore and a shorter stroke.

So the pd gets backlash from your video and the detective finally returns your call. That is a guy that doesn’t want to do his job. Did he even apologize? Offer to make you whole because his laziness? Their has to be some accountability.

I've worked at a few places impound/scrap yards in Indiana and lower Michigan. And that's an inside job if I ever seen one. And when I was working down by Gary Indiana and Taylor Michigan I seen some pretty shady transactions when it came to police impounds.

The Bradford racing school looks to be fun. Back in 93-94 I worked at Pontiac Roadside Assistance. Pontiac hired Skip Barber to come out to Michigan Speedway and give us a lesson using the new Firebirds. Good times.

The drag pac and the cobra jet were both built by Roush for a long time . Place in Leonard used to do the chassis for the drag pac. Copo is built in Oxford

Great Video, Tom. That was definitely a Road-trip for the Record Books. Too bad the Cop didn’t have the balls to admit he messed up and get your truck back. It may have been a late 90’s truck, but it was YOUR truck, and you still have the title. It should be that every step of the way there should have been numerous attempts to contact you, via phone or in person, given your proximity to everything that happened. It scares me to think how many vehicles have this happen on a yearly basis. I’m sure the Towing Company and State would rather they not be returned. You should have at least been able to write off the money you got screwed out of off your taxes. Thanks for the Videos. Looking forward to seeing what happens next with the Truck.

when you get carbide "powder" wet it gives off flammable gas which is acetylene!! Burning readily and brightly if metered properly it can provide a workable light source!! My dad and his partner owned a "scap/wrecking yard and there "welding cart did not have acetylene bottles but rather a carbide generator! for cutting and welding!!

4:00 "One of one, 426 'wedge' Hemi" - Yeah, nah,.... Hemi, or Wedge, they are different cylinder heads, with the Gen 2 Hemi replacing the Wedge, which in turn had superseded the Gen 1 Hemi. The combo of year, with 426 Wedge, Crossram dual 4bbl, with Auto, With Convertible, and probably colour, is the 'one of one' part, heck of a sweet ride, that's for sure. :)

My barber owns the very first 70 hemi Cuda. It’s been in auburn cord Duesenberg museum since he realized the serial number was a bunch of 000003. Hand built at the factory. Last I heard it’s valued at around 2.2 million.

The 65 is a Max Wedge . Chrysler had Engines left over from 64 Max Wedges . You could order special. I have a factory built 63 Max Wedge.
