The residents really should get an F. Not for lack of knowledge, but their complete lack of ability to state their case clearly and the aggressive attitude that could have sent the whole situation to another level. That guy is really lucky he was dealing with a cop so level headed.
@AW-ln7us
@AW-ln7us 2 жыл бұрын
I disagree, I think you should stop grading citizens altogether. We have courts for that. And we shouldn't hold police and civilians to the same standard anyway. One has to do better, in fact they are paid for it, I'd even bet somewhere in their rhetoric they've even said as much. This cop gets a C- for flexing his badge when he was told to leave after he stated there was nothing he could do about the call anyway. Other man was irate because he just had some circus clown dump water on everything he, his wife, and his kids likely own. And his consolation prize is a few nights at a hotel and the cop he asked for help crossing their arms and saying "it's a civil matter hur derka derka dur." Man wanted a police report, for the record, there was no harm in filling one out it would of only taken a few minutes and yes, even in civil court it could be brought forward. Yet this cop refused, why? I heard his bs answer but do you think that man would of gotten so pissed off if piggy didn't tell him no. He could of just let they guy fill one out and avoided this entire video. Audit the audit I give you an F for grading residents and victims and not sticking to your area of expertise and only grading auditors and cops. These people are not there in any official capacity they are victims, they are irate, they are not trying to record police interactions and keep cops accountable, THEY NEEDED THE COPS. They are not at work as a self narrating camera guy or at work keeping the peace. They were at their house making lunch. Stop grading civilians or I'm going to call you out on it every single time prick.

@@BanginSevenGrams As an attorney, I will say that clients are often infuriated to find out something is a civil matter. When you're the victim being caused terrible harm or inconvenience, the last thing you want to hear is that the government cannot and will not step in to protect you, but you instead have to spend your own time, money, and energy seeking reparation. Most people think (justifiably) that a key role of the government is to use their might to set things right when someone wrongs you, but what they don't realize is that if the wrong is civil in nature, the government will only set things right AFTER you'd filed a suit, argued it in court, and won a judgment, and that's a lengthy, costly process. It's honestly a really shitty loophole that needs to be fixed; unfortunately, most of this country's civil law was formulated by the people with the deepest pockets - corporations and landlords and such, not the ordinary people who suffer harm from them.

@@ajm5007 well there is good reason for some of those restrictions though. Do we really want to spend untold resources on situations like these? This was an issue between two individual parties. I have lived in Columbus for many years this is one of the few departments that does just have bad apples the vast majority of the police officers are good upstanding people I have always had positive encounters with in 25 years I've only been treated poorly by 1 officer he was borderline obese with a bad attitude. I've seen these officers go out of their way to help people giving jumps helping rather than harassing homeless giving rides even pushing broken down or stuck in the snow cars for people. I would say the yellow pages but in this day and age they hang out on the internet. The guy that lives in the house is a stone nut. He is probably pissed at his entire life. Wife doesn't like or respect him, kids avoid him, his 1988 Coupe De Cadillac blew an engine and his side piece has cut him off. He possibly thinks he should be an astrophysicist working at NASA trying to launch the next manned flight to Jupiter, but here is, living beneath his dignity in a shabby leaky roof rent house on Section 8, that is slowly collapsing around him, so yeah, he is probably pissed to the highest level of pissivety. I had a dentist who refused to provide my dental records at one point. When I filed a complaint with the dental licensing board, she called the police to protect her and it started a year-long nightmare for me. I'm pretty sure she had a friend on the force because the city attorney and the police chief ended up getting involved. The worst part was that the cop wrote a falsified report claiming she had give me my dental records which she used to defend herself with the licensing board and federal HIPAA enforcement agency. It was a big deal because she had done negligent work and the my insurance wouldn't pay to fix it without examining the records which I couldn't get. I needed several thousand in dental work to replace the tooth she destroyed. It was eye-opening and heart breaking to have the entire department working against me in a case they never should have been involved in in the first place. It was doubly frustrating because they kept helping her but when I would ask them to correct their mistakes like writing a false report, they just said it was a civil matter and they couldn't get involved. But you already freaking did! Just fix what you broke!

@happyash6048

@@stringwhore So, I tried to file a complaint with the department about the officer who wrote the false report because it was the most objective, easily, falsifiable. The officer assigned to investigate simply refused to investigate so I tried to file a complaint against him, but internal affairs refused to take it. So I demanded a meeting with the police chief who pretty much admitted that I was getting hosed but said he just didn't care. The city attorney was actually kind of on my side and stopped the police from filing fictitious harassment charges, but said nothing could be done about the false reports because no charges had been filed. I talked to a private attorney who said the same thing, if there are no charges filed, it isn't technically illegal to write a false police report. In the end, I got enough email evidence to throw enough doubt on the report that I did win my case with the federal HIPAA enforcement agency and the dentist was put on probation. I had already paid to fix my tooth and wasn't able to recover the money from insurance. I also had a baby during this time and just gave up the fight for my own mental health. Years later when the department had a new number 2, I contacted him and asked him to revisit the case. He said that in the official record, it claimed that they didn't pursue the investigation into the complaint because the officer had voluntarily left the department. (He went to another department nearby and I don't think it had anything to do with this episode.) He said that that finding didn't really make sense with the timeline of the case or the breadth of the complaint. He also said it was clear they had dropped the ball on this investigation and should have handled things differently, but since it was so long ago, nothing could be done. The chief is still there being incompetent and covering up for incompetent/corrupt officers.

Not to mention that they wasted city resources over something that was clearly a civil issue. They should've just let the property owner and the contractor hash this out while they documented the damage to their own property. If the result was unacceptable to them, then they should contact an attorney. Not the police.

Great work on behalf of the police officer that responded to this call. He handled this matter as textbook as anyone possibly could have. He did especially well by not reacting to the increasingly hostile words of the tenant and escalating this matter any further even though the tenant was very close to making threats of physical harm against the officer. The officer simply said, "all right well you have a nice day" and departed the scene in spite of the overtly rude and hostile behavior that was directed towards him. This is exactly the kind of police officers we want on any police force. I hope the tenants got their problems squared away even though they don't deserve it.

I was illegally pulled over twice in the same county. I had to deal with the hassle of being questioned and having my vehicle searched with no probable cause. The kicker is the first time I was pulled over was because I saw my cousin walking down the sidewalk one night driving through town and stopped to give him a ride and he said it was suspicious because of how late it was. The second time the officer stopped me about a quarter mile outside his jurisdiction for my tag light being out. I'm glad to see there's some good ones though.

7:52 It won’t be long before the cops are called on this guy specifically. He is an angry disrespectful person that can’t handle disputes well. And he thinks he can detain other people against their will. That is a recipe for disaster.

The officer nailed this one, he had no authority to make the roofing contractor do anything. The situation was defused between the two parties. And he tried to alleviate their concerns regarding property damage. Shyt happens, if the guy was going to pay for a hotel while the fixed it that’s what he was able to do. File a lawsuit if insurance won’t pay.

Due to the KZfaq algorithm, I’ve only been suggested videos that have bashed the police and have thought of making comments questioning it. I am overjoyed to see videos like this to show it is at a more common ground between civilian and law-enforcement.

C-? Really? That dude deserved an F. I get he was confused civil and criminal issues, but his aggressive demeanor was inexcusable. I'd have been worried that he was going to take his anger out on her because he was so escalated.

Might not even need to be civil. Call the licensing board of contractors in the state. They will do an investigation and make the contractor pay if he is in the wrong. Contactors have to post bond. I had to post $5k in my state. The board can just award you that money immediately if the contractor pisses them off. Az even has a residential recovery fund to pay large damages. They pay you and the contractor won't be able to work again until he pays the state back.

This is a case of "I'm not getting my way, I'm dialing 911". These 2 people act like children. Then the guy gets angry and hits his own partner trying to get the cop to go away displaying aggression. What a dope. Tenants don't deserve a C- rating, they get an F.

@@xaiden8709 u kidding? she started the combative attitude before the guy chimed in lol.. yes she was 'holding him back' but that was all 1/2 hearted, as were the guys attempts to get away from her, just a posturing to show he is upset.. you can argue the degree of guilt if you want, but she is definitely guilty too

The title is misleading and if the officer was standing on sidewalk he was not on the property. He had justification for arresting that guy for assault and disorderly conduct.
