Don't be afraid to part it out. There's many times what you paid for that car in parts, provided you're willing to sit on the parts for a little while, and put some time into advertising/selling them. No reason to lose money here, even if the engine is trashed.

@@twoeightythreez Yep, put water in it and run it. Had a neighbor get a Camaro Z28 repo'd once. When the tow truck got there he backed it out of the garage and did a burn out. Blew the rear tires off then kept going on the rims until they started coming apart. Got out, handed the tow truck driver the keys and walked away. Funny.
@mattg7952
@mattg7952 5 жыл бұрын
As a former repo man I always thought it was funny how people did stupid crap like that thinking it hurt our feelings. The repo man is just picking the car up for the legal owner and could care less what was done to the car. I picked up a 99 Camaro z28 and the guy had taken the motor and trans out and decided to keep it. People don’t realize that when the car gets sold at auction the price is deducted from the amount owed on the loan. You damage the vehicle and reduce resale value you just end up owing that much more money and you still don’t have the car and your credit takes a hit but most people don’t understand that’s how it works.

Matt G what's messed up is the opposite. People who still owe money on the car and spend a ton on aftermarket parts. I remember seeing one heavily modified golf be repoed, only to reappear a few weeks later. Idiot got another loan, and somehow bought it back. Well, not really buying of course, just prolonging the inevitable. Car would've been completely paid off, good credit standing, had he just kept it stock, and paid off the car. I think the owner eventually got caught stealing from his place of employment (Walmart). Can't fix stupid. Nice car though. Shame.

i just finished getting a 1994 Ford Thunder Bird fixed up... i had to weld plate onto the frame as it was rusted paper thin, it has an IRS and a 4.6L V8 that was only slightly changed then called the 5.4L Triton engine. i looked at its records, and it has 227'600 miles on it, but got a new engine or rebuild in 2004... I still have a bit of work to do just cleaning the old paint and rust off the underside of the rear end as well as some small panel work, then just parts replacement.

Hey mate. Love watching your videos all the way from Australia. Here in Aus at least (and I've owned a few 5.0s) they're known to corrode timing covers behind the water pump which lets water straight into the oil pan. Just another possibility of why it has water in it. Also if left to sit for extended periods the steel parts of the fuel system corrode internally (lines, rails, injectors etc). That being said old Fords never die. Can't wait for the next one to see if it comes back to life....

Hey Randy just a heads up the odometer gear on these from 94-98 were prone to breaking. They all break at some point and the odometer will stop turning so the car could very likely have a lot more miles than what was reported. The gear is very easy to fix just have to pull the cluster out.

Can't wait for the next Mustang episode! When I worked for a Ford dealership in Tulsa years ago, I bought a slick 1986 Gt from a customer that went through high water and ingested water through the intake snorkel. It had been setting for a long time and was locked up. Pulled the motor and tore it down. One of the connecting rods had bent trying to compress water which can't be done. I replaced the rod, honed the cylinders, installed all new rings, bearings, etc., plus valve job and drove it. Years later sold it to my brother who also drove it quite a few years. It sat for a few more years and he gave it to my son who is now in the process of complete overhaul. My son still has his high school '94 GT coupe that is the same color. We built another engine for it back then with a lot of performance items and still have the original engine. Bottom line, would love to tackle another, even at my age. Then we could have matching Stangs.

Well im almost positive it be longed to a mexican kid i worked with on sw29th in 2010. The front end damage is exactly the same. He ran into his house, i cant remember how he did that but i know it wasnt a bad hit. Damage on the front is exactly the same. I also know he got it from a small dealer on sw29th. So its very possibly the same car. Its been sitting since around 2010 2011.

Btw, if the motor is gone, i have a good block crank etc from an older 5.0 that had low miles. Ill give it to you to get rid of it. Block will need cleaned up at a machine shop and possibly the crank. But i took the block apart myself, and its obvious there was almost no miles on it when someone started disassembling it. I finished it.

With that low of miles, (if they are real), i dont think it would be a blown head gasket...It maybe more of a case of someone purposely f'cked with it...especially since their was no antifreeze coming out..a case of purposeful sabotage perhaps?

They have a protection in them you need to lock the door with the key and unlock it. before they will start. had that issue with an 02 mustang. i also had a 99 mustang i bought from copart and that one had wires cut that someone took off after market stuff and i had to find the wires and were they went and splice them back together. both of them run but the 02 is a parts car. both are GT's but have the 4.6lt

the water seats on the bottom on the oil (specific weight) and that water got out pretty clean of rust, so the engine it's probably not that damaged, obviously needs a full check, starting for the oil pan, and a compression test on the cylinders and coolant lines
