As always a very elegant handling of this effect! 🤩👌👌 it reminded me of “a questionable Trick” by Gregory Wilson. I really like the one handed switch he does at the end of his version. Although your switch at the end is lovely too.

Elegant and smooth. I especially like the subtlety of lacing the copper into the other hand while placing the silver. Quite deceptive! Thanks as always, Rick.

Love the idea someone else had in the comments regarding finding kids without much and getting them started with bumper packs made from some of your simpler effects. ❤

The "without looking" line is really smart. The first thing the spectator often wants to do is look at what they were given. I do an impromptu version using dimes and pennies which uses a great line I stole from Gregory Wilson. It starts as a riddle: "I'm holding two American coins whose total value is 11 cents but one of them is NOT a dime. What are they?" Of course ONE of them is not a dime-it's a penny! "That was a trick question. How about a questionable trick instead?" Then I start my mini Copper Silver routine.

I would even try to eliminate that without looking. Maybe by giving them the coins in a palm down hand. Giving coins up would force them to grab by closing fist, therefore not looking - allready close the fist.

Love your channel, Rick. That nowhere palm transfer is awesome. I’m trying to learn Rune Klan’s knuckle transfer move, but if I could do your move with 2 coins into nowhere, that might be better. I wonder if that’s possible…

I love this little transfer. It's great to throw in a Spellbound sequence.

Hi, I love your routines. I do copper and silver with a dollar coin and a asian coin with a hole in. The partisipant don't feel it.

Nice If it finishes in the spectator’s hand I’m gonna do it. My go to coins across is Winged Silver from Bobo’s. No gimmicks. Four borrowed coins and a hidden one and it kills. I’m pretty sure this will kill too.

This was a fantastic video as always! I went here after learning the one from Roth's made easy DVDs, and I really liked this one too! I have a quick question, I've now watched those three volumes which has been really fantastic, I loved them! The question is, now that I'm moving on in my coin magic journey, what gaffs would you say are essential? He doesn't use any gaffs in those volumes. I have zero experience when it comes to coin gaffs, but I've gathered that a silver/copper coin and an expanded shell are good to have, but are there other "basic" gaffs you think I should get? Cheers! 😀
@RickHolcombe3 ай бұрын
I believe a copper/silver coin is essential. It is the most affordable and the most versatile gaff. A shell is fun to use and can be very fooling, but I honestly don't use it for many routines. Plus, they are delicate and expensive. I often think a flipper coin is better than a shell for most circumstances. It can do most things a shell can do and more. It's a little more expensive, but a little more versatile and less delicate.

@@RickHolcombe Okay, thanks! 🙏 I appreciate your generosity with your knowledge. And also for recommending Roths DVDs, I think I got a lot more out of it starting there rather than Bobos.

at 11:14, when the hidden coin goes into nowhere palm, im having trouble with this. could you give some advice? thank you
@seanfaherty9 ай бұрын
Don’t you feel that telling them not to look is a tell ? I’ve only done it once but I was able to get them not to look by tapping the hand with a finger and pointing behind their back as I gave instruction to put the coin behind the back. Why wife is pretty famous for busting my balls. If it works on her it usually works on the nephews. Thanks for sharing a beautifully simple solution.
@RickHolcombe9 ай бұрын
Just make sure to say the line right before you do the shuttle pass. Emphasize the idea of "chance". You could say, "Now put one coin in each hand until you don't know where the silver one is , or the copper one." Then emphasize that they can change their mind when they give you the right hand or the left hand. All of this takes heat off of the coins themselves, plus the coins are behind their back at this point. Then just finish it up!
