For everyone saying this review is unfair because you need to run High Output batteries on FUEL tools; Milwaukee itself promotes the 6.5" FUEL saw with the XC5 used in this review. You don't get much for the extra weight of a H.O. 6, see here - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eb1yZqV4rrfPdJc.html Not everyone wants to run big batteries on small power tools. I could have boosted the DeWalt on a Flexvolt 6 too, but didn't for the same reasons. See ya!

People just hate on Makita for some reason I’ve got all three brands of all their tools and I like all of them. I do have a little bit more Makita Because they never die I never have a reason to get anything else I have to hide them So I can try to get the new versions I still got the old nine. Six slide and battery one still works I got the first 18 V one. Makitas batteries die on me faster and their chucks mess up but the drills or motors never die. Now the Milwaukee Their batteries seem about the same as makitas But the tolls that I have that don’t work are Milwaukee’s

The Makita XSH03Z is amazing. It is also the closest way to get a Left Blade guide rail saw with the track adapter and dust collection fitting (196952-2 and 196953-0). (It amazes me to see righties use a right blade track saw. Stretching, leaning, twisting... everything wrong/unsafe. I'm a former lefty, and we had it good getting right blade track saws.)

Really good review. I just recently changed my tool brand and am with Flex. I am impressed with the Makita. I am on the fence for a 6 1/2 saw. Flex makes one with a new type of drive. It is belt driven. It is longer but more powerful. Flex has the most powerful and long lasting run times for tools and their price is on point. I love competition so Dewalt and Milwaukee will have to step up.

Would be perfect if Makita had a blade right version of this same saw. Sometimes it's a bit awkward having the blade on your side as a right handed person and not having the dust exhausting at you which is a mess at times. Affordable enough that you could have a set of both to chose from depending on the job. Great content as always, always look to you for info whenever shopping for new tools........Thank You.

@ignyoshii6460

Take apart the trigger but be careful because of the springs. Clean the contacts. Apply Dielectric grease (there are two separate contacts so dont use a conductive grease because it might shortcircuit)

I have had the Makita for years and years and it is a great saw, I like how light it is, very good for certain applications where you need to cut in odd ways like over your head or vertically / sideways ect. I like it but have moved away from Makita to dewalt because I am finding akitas build quality has gone to the dumper the last couple years. the drills especially are just junk now.I will go ahead with the dewalt circular saw and see if I like it but I will probably miss the nice light weight Makita.

You need the high output Milwaukee batteries for the fuel tools. It's a much more efficient battery with more power. You're running 21700 cells against very old 18650 cells in the Milwaukee, not a good comparison. I have both the old 5.0 and the 8.0 HO. The 8.0 runs the tool much cooler and with more power because it's efficiency is much higher. It's like night and day.

@@minhdaubu2363 you're right Milwaukee isn't the best at everything, but this is like putting kerosene in a diesel engine... Will it run? Yes, absolutely. But you definitely won't get the power and torque that you would from diesel.. This saw being a fuel tool is specifically made for peak performance with 21700 cell batteries.

They could be. But the big question is how will it hold up in 5 years? They are new in the tool business so there is the big unknown. Makita has done an excellent job for decades perfecting their tools with a great balance of power, ergonomics, and reliability.
