I think Detection Tower is worded this way because this way even if the creatures gain hexproof this turn you can target them. Works against cards like Blossoming Defence or Dive Down.

Still can be reworded to "lose hexproof and cannot gain hexproof until the next end phase" or something similar IMO.

It is worded that way for multiplayer, you can target but the other players cannot

Detection Tower is probably worded that way for multiplayer games so only you can see through the hexproof while everyone else still can't target them.

It also prevents reapplying hexproof to any of those targets for that turn, since it would still be ignored.

On the other hand, this wording does keep certain anthem/lord effects in tact, something like: "all creatures with hexproof have +1/+1" (there's probably not many cards like that, but I have seen some with first strike/deathtouch, so it could be a thing also)

@@Landrassa1 I mean, we have things like Archetype of Imagination, which says creatures lose flying and can't gain flying. So that's not really a reason to word it this way.

I just lost a game of historic brawl because my opponent hit 15+ rolls on Delina wild mage, targeting Demanding dragon, like EIGHT times in a row. I couldn't even be mad!

I suspect the Tower is worded that way to avoid entanglement with "All Creatures you control gain Hexproof until end of turn" and Timestamps and Layers and all that stuff.

Detection Tower is worded that way to prevent instant ways to grant hexproof.

Detection Tower is worded that way because it only let's YOU target hexproof stuff. If the permanent lost hexproof, then other opponents could target it too, if you're playing a multiplayer game.

cards like archetype of endurance that constantly provide hexproof would refresh it through detection tower. same with things like warding orbs soo wording it as though you're just shooting through the hexproof helps trump those effects.

Creatures can gain hexproof after an effect removes hexproof from all creatures. By just ignoring hexproof it prevents the blowout.

For the first couple of times, I wasn't on board with Matt Griffiths' editing style. Now, I really enjoy it. Thanks for the change of pace and adding entertainment via editing.... well all editing is part of making things entertaining, but this has plenty of extras beyond normal editing.

@ 8:00 to keep others in a group game from targeting the "hexproof" creature? Only gives you (you the one with the Detection Tower) the ability to target the creatures.

Maybe it's not "opponent and creatures your opponent controls lose hexproof" in case there's a way they can get hexproof again and prevent spells from working? The way it's written, even if your opponent somehow acquires hexproof on themselves or their creature, you can still cast spells at them or their creatures as if they don't.

Detection Tower plays around instants that give hexproof. If it where „lose Hexproof“, then your opponent could Play a spell that gains hexproof. With this wording you can easily Play around any spell like that cause you Just „ignore“ the fact that they have hexproof

Apparently the "correct" plural of pegasus is pegisides in Greek and pegasi/pegasusses in English. I'm more partial to pegasusses, but pegapods is nice too.

Ah yes my first MTG set. Bought a build-a-deck box and got packs of M19, Dominaria and the two Ixalans. Don't remeber exactly what I pulled but I know that at some point I pulled a Twilight Prophet and a Karn out of RIX and Dominaria respectively around that time.

You are thinking of Shroud(This permanent or player can’t be the target of spells or abilities), not Hexproof (This permanent can't be the target of spells or abilities your opponents control).
