When you misnamed tweezers as needle nose pliers, that reminds me when Verge made a PC building "tutorial" where they misnamed zipties as tweezers.

Looks liker a helluva printer for the $$$. It will be interesting to see the mods you do and what kind of speeds you can get out of it.

Would be a perfect printer with the pei steel print surface, all metal hotend, ABL, and Klipper. All-in it would be a little over $400

People need to stop giving business to Creality.

I was thinking the exact same thing while reviewing this printer. It’s such a good deal for what it is, and we’ll designed.

One should stop giving business to a company that observes open source licenses and even publishes whole printer CAD openly?
@tombo7719

@@SianaGearz @Siana Gearz Nice try. NO. Creality steals ideas and puts out half assed products, doesn't have parts states side for warranty, and shifts around liability for their crap printers. How often are they sent out not really working correctly, then update models never informing past customers of updates? Siana, stop with the pro-creality shilling. They are bad company, and anyone who is new to the 3D printing world has better options.

@@tombo7719 All of these issues that you named - no local repair, rushed products, silent product changes etc are typical of Chinese 3D printer companies. Do you have any evidence that this Flying Bear or whoever is better? Furthermore they're just about all engaged in a large amount of intellectual property theft. At least the big boob implant lady browbeat Creality into seeing the light and abiding by open source licenses, and continues oversight over them doing the right thing. Geeetech is another standout of always publishing at least firmware sources and board schematics, even without external encouragement, so this is a company that i support; in return their products are generally even lower quality than Creality. The rest don't understand what a "license" is or what "intellectual property" is. As to "stealing ideas"? Well if you have ideas that are anyhow unique and protection worthy, then you should patent them, then you can block the product being imported into the region where the patent protection has been granted, and it doesn't occur to me that any such motions have occurred against Creality. But go ahead and give me examples of the ideas they stole. Apropos stolen, do you think Flying Bear licensed the LGX extruder gears to clone, or has genuine ones from Bondtech? I don't see the budget for the genuine ones in the price.

creality is stealing your models through their cloud. thats fine I guess if you are printing toys from thingiverse or minis. however, if you use any of their software, you had better block it in your firewall if working on an actual product

FWIW JJ, I'm using the Manta E3EZ in my Voron V0.1 build. It was a little tricky to configure, especially with CAN, but I finally got to the point of working on the Klipper configuration. Are you going to run Marlin or Klipper on the Bear?

I hope they start selling the extruder!I'm building a new machine right now and could use 3 (it's a tool changer). One limitation on speed is probably how fast it melts PLA. It's pretty typical for a ptfe lined hotend to struggle around 80-100mm/s. All-metal can go a little higher.

Can get the Reborn 2 for $380 right now. Flying Bear printer that is much larger and has a 350 deg all metal hotend. Also has linear guides instead of rods. It is an amazing deal. The reborn 2 has become the ultimate blank canvas to mod and swap out control etc.

Pretty nice little printer, especially at that price, but who has ever heard of Flying Bear? Sounds like their customer support is pretty good, but only time will tell. As far as auto bed leveling, I suspect that on this printer - or any Core XY printer - you'll only need to level the bed when you change something like the hot end or the nozzle, so I think adding a BL Touch might be overkill. Kind of nice to have, but not a deal breaker for me. Also, I like the linear rods, and they are more durable than the v-slot wheels, but the bearings will eventually wear out, especially on an inexpensive printer. My Anycubic Mega S is currently waiting for me to replace the bearings on the X axis - I've already replaced the ones on the Y axis. It still works, but the bearings are getting sloppy and noisy. And finally, I really like that extruder. The large gears are great, and I like being able to see inside to see what's happening. I hate extruders that don't let you see inside, which is why my printers have the open Micro Swiss Creality-style extruders. They're easy to un-jam and clean when necessary. I do kind of wish the gears were larger, but I don't need to replace the extruders yet, so . . . As for the print quality, you should be able to get your slicer settings dialed in and get great results from this printer. I would try slowing it down until you get it dialed in and then worry about increasing the speeds. Rule out any hardware issues before you assume that Klipper will make it better. Firmware will never be able to overcome defective hardware. Once you see what it'll do with the stock firmware you can move it to Klipper and at least you'll know any issues you see are not the hardware. Anyway, great review (as always). I may keep an eye on this one for the next time I decide to add to my tiny little "print farm." And I'm really looking forward to your review on the Bambu printer!

Very true about corexy not needing auto bed level like a regular bed slinger, but it does help just in case a bed isn't perfectly flat.

I've heard of Flying Bear back in like 2018. ANd have been following them ever since. (My favorite animal is bear, thats why LOL) I actually have been in the Flying Bear group on Facebook since 2019ish, even though I dont own a flying bear. Only con is A LOT of the people on the group on facebook is russian, so it can be hard to know what everyone is saying if you dont speak russian. But everyone on the group all seem to say that customer service is very good. Also everyone I have talked to online that owns a flying bear has never said anything negative about. I've actually mostly only heard good things. But I cant confirm as I do not own this printer. Based on the facts I do know, it seems like its a solid company.
