Corinne Dufour, secretary to Hugo Drax, gets fired and is subsequently eaten by dobermans. One of the roughest deaths for a Bond woman....especially one as sweet Corrine. Great music by John Barry!

This is a perfect example of film scoring at it's best. It's not an "action cue" in the sense that it doesn't go with the action, but with the feeling of impending death, which is more subtext and adds a layer to the scene that otherwise would be missing.
@Mrpastry9094 жыл бұрын
Barry could've made it a generic fast, intense chase score, but keeping the music slow and menacing helps the viewer feel Corinne's fear as death approaches.

exactly what i was thinking. this movie could have been so much better if they cut more scenes out and replaced them with more of the darker scenes like when Bond was in the centrifuge, this scene, and the end scene that was very intense. the plot was actually pretty good but because they had to add their silliness to it. sometimes having dark movies aren't bad.

There are a few reasons why this is the most horrifying death by animal in a James Bond film: 1. Dogs are all around us in our life, it could happen to us. *beaucerons not dobermans, but yes it is a "necessaery evil" scene to portray the ruthlessness of Drax.

i was flipping channels and came across this movie/scene on tbs or spike tv i think. it really got me though. you don't usually see female characters get killed up like that. usually just us guys get the faces of death videos lol

I still think this is one of the most haunting scenes in a 007 film. Pretty messed up

I am very surprised she didn’t scream! Why didn’t Bond save her? She had a good soul. I don’t remember this scene. This makes me very sad!!!

What is interesting is that since we accompany her running through the woods for a bit we expect Bond to show up at any moment but he never does which makes this scene the more dark and interesting. This movie has quite the tonal incoherence and I think John Barry's really good soundtrack may be to blame when the movie outstanding nonsense after outstanding nonsense.

And what's disturbing is that Bond never finds out about her death. He continues with his womanizing lifestyle never knowing he was directly responsible for her death.

Because if she climed a tree the movie scene would have been boring. Trust me
