When Sharon was with Len and Rita, some of their interactions were hilarious, they were a great fit. Jenny however, was an obnoxious character who went way beyond just a troublesome teen. She had no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

Can't tolerate the little cow. Rita saw all the red flags, and still kept her on, to her cost. My mum would've sorted her, good and proper. The first time she looked at my mum sideways, she would've made an immediate exit, via the front window. Bag and baggage, right behind her.

I am in the US..have been sick for the last year......have now watched this program from the beginning...1960.....some of these comments, I read every post for every month/episode.... seem like they have no idea! very rough on the actors! How Hilda and Vera are favorites I do not know.....Hilda has calmed down a little at this point...but was truly aweful! Rita is kind....but yes has her fun at Mavis's expense LOL And enough with the future spoilers! Thank you Professional Gun for putting these out there :) Well done!

I wouldn't call Hilda "sweet" but she's very funny and I agree she makes the show. I love Phyllis and Bet and Jack and Vera. Can't stand Percy. Ive noticed this a lot of times, but how can jack be pulling a pint of bitter as people walk in and give it to them just as they have asked for it, and also if someone asked for a pint then he gets a glass from under the bar that's already half full and tops it up. Im guessing its to save time during filming that seen. But its made so obvious for everyone to see. You would think that it would be disguised.

Talking of Emily relating how she was as a young woman in her very early 20s made me laugh One of the old Black & White episodes when Emily was known as Miss Nugent & worked in Gamma Garments with Mr Swindley, they belonged in an amateur dramatics society Members of Gamma Garments & neighbours in the Street put on some period drama It was hysterical! Esp as Emily was so timid & shy she was vertually struck dumb when she walked on to the stage & fumbled Her lines & was a bundle of nerves! So after the 1st act someone in the cast ( could have been Len or some other joker) gave Emily a half pint glass full of sherry The next act saw Emily distinctly drunk, in full voice, all over the place! After act 4, Emily was falling all over, shouting out her lines & everyone elses, absolutely off her head & it was so very funny seeing the sensible, conservative Emily falling all over, slurring & giggling! Much to the chargrin of Mr Swindley! Cheers 🇬🇧👧

Hmm...Mike wonders if there's a market for denim kilts in Glasgow. The answer is simple, just ask his bride to be and her twin brother since they were both brought up there. Oh, guess he forgot, then so did everyone else in Corrie, since there were obviously no Scottish actors to play those parts. Just for everyone's information though, NO there was no market for denim kilts in Glasgow then or now. The Scots dress the same as the rest of Britain except on Scottish celebration days like The Battle of Bannockburn. 😀
