Why would Bette think that Betty would want that pub at her age??! She is certainly not hurting for money, so she doesn’t need to take on all the extra work and problems ! And Betty that she only works a few hours, but she is there morning and night, so that’s more than a few! And she couldn’t do it anyway because she doesn’t have the money!

I wouldn’t have gone out with that man if I were Rita. I wouldn’t go out with him since he went out with Bette, and especially after he dumped her! He also had who knows how many women! That’s probably why his wife left him! Rita didn’t care about Bette! Are the pickings that few over there that she must go out with a man that Bette has??! And Rita or Bette never asked him why he’s separated, but he would just lie about it, anyway!

Used to watch this with my mother, I think she gained conflict resolution skills from this show, I was too conflicted to notice any of that, lol.

The Mike Baldwin type like to wine, dine and bed a woman until the novelty wears off. Then they dump her and move on to the next one.

Brilliant script… Annie about Hilda and gossip… it isn’t every stream that’s tainted by its source …Bet giving her just enough to want more …superbly played

I love the way that Fred is so cheeky and the moment Mrs Walker appears he becomes a complete toady.

Arnold Swain was such a strange little man..very theatrical and camp..its obvious he batted for tuther side..or at least helped them out when they were short staffed..he turned out to be a psychotic bigamist..so shame on Mavis and Dreadrie etc for pushing the little toad on Emily!

How does Hilda have time to work, clean her own flat, and cook and clean for a lodger??! And it seems to me 25 a week is not even enough for the buying and cooking of all the food the lodger eats!

There used to be a bureau at the Irish police HQ in Phoenix Park, Dublin, that dealt specifically with a similar team at the Met police in London, regarding kids who had been taken from mainland Britain to Ireland (à la OurBrian®). It used to be quite a common occurrence as you don't need a passport to travel over on a ferry. I don't think it happens so often now as it's easier to track people thanks to facial recognition technology.

The cruelest and most vicious think to do to a Man and expectant Father, and totally wicked to MURDER an innocent baby. There are many Men who will raise their baby alone if the Woman wants out, no reason to kill the baby.🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
