Audrey had the bare faced cheek to blame Deirdre for Alf’s heart attack when it’s clearly his poor lifestyle that’s the culprit. The stress of having to work harder to fund his wife’s expensive tastes with little help from her probably hasn’t helped either. Ivy is right about Audrey. She’s toxic just like Gail.

Years ago I got put up temporarily in the university accommodation as a stop gap when I worked in the kitchen there. When I got a new home away from the site it was a relief!

Rita seems to think she's a grown up person who has a proper life and can be taken seriously, and Mavis, her 'best friend', is naive, prudish and a bit of a joke she can amuse herself with. I've always found their relationship very unequal and unpleasant, Rita laughs at Mavis and encourages other people to do the same.

All of these episodes were good! Great story lines & plots Bett on the run, Alf on deaths door Deirdre in the corridors of power Terry doing the dirty on his mate Gail is heading for a breakdown Ken is becoming creepier & more sinister week by week All good powerful stories Great acting & so convincing Plus the blast from the past Hairstyles we all thought were so cool & trendy just look tatty nowadays I used to have big hair in the late 80s & it took some maintainance i can tell you! Also the big shoulders, power business suits, chunky jewellery Kitten heel court shoes... ! It all looks so dated now but i love hearing the snatches of music from that era, there were some classic songs back then. Loving these episodes & thank god there arent any Mave the Rave & Droopy Derek moments Im so sick of those two & they've been done to death now! Like a Thrice used teabag! Id just like, for once to see Mave gets whisked off her feet by some lusty chap & to show her what passion is! Thank you Prof Gun 66, you have made so many old Corrie fans blissfully happy Regards 🇬🇧👧

I remember those days too, what always stands out to me is the plastic beads and earrings to match the colour of any outfit! Modern revivals of 80s fashion never includes plastic beads 😂 I remember when I realised the best way to wear pointy shoes is to buy them a size too large so your toes aren’t crushed. Happy days 😊

I really like the part when Terry @ Curly, worked in the garage with looking 4 body parts @ selling 🧽 cleaning supplies door 2 door. Those day’s were funny. 😅 😂They we’re a hilarious 🤣 team together.😂😂

I remember in the ‘90s there was a Baywatch or Beverly Hills 90210 style sequence with Vicky trying on outfits in a clothes shop while Steve waited impatiently. Then I think they used Bryan Ferry’s Let’s Stick Together when Emily was driving round with Percy! Strange 😂

Sadly I agree. As soon as he ran off with that Linda it's the end of Terry as we knew him. Such a shame, he was a great character, in a loveable rogue sort of way.

Ken 1000% started the issues with Alf. Alf asked many times for him to stop, Ken refused. Alf finally defended himself and in turn Derdrie went after him guns blazing. Then AGAIN Alf asked for peace and they shoved it up his nose. Now Ken has the guts to be outraged that Audrey told them how it is?!? I can’t take them, I hope they get what they deserve

Audrey wasn't fair to Deirdre and to her credit I think she realized it while talking to Rita. Alfs lifestyle had a lot more to do with this than the election. And if it wasn't Deirdre it would have been the labor candidate. Or the shop. Or etc.

Alec Gilroy is a SHARK. He’s been after the pub and Bet. I don’t think he counted on her doing a runner because the scriptwriters didn’t either! However, it’s obvious that Alec is relentless and will do what he needs to do in order to get what he wants. He knew Bet was not able to afford the tenancy. Great actor is Roy Barraclough.

Very poor knowledge of election procedure in this episode. If you have lost an election by only 7 votes, you are given an automatic recount (perhaps several). And why didn't Alf or the Labour candidate ask for one? Also, election counts are not held in poky backstreet community centres with no parking outside. They are held in big venues like leisure centres or civic centres. And all the wards in the borough are counted in the same place not every ward counted in a different place.

No, she disappears to Spain as it was getting too much for her running the pub. He goes eventually to try to find her and brings her back but realizes that she can only be in the pub if he marries her as he tooknover the tenancy, also it was to save her image.

Yes. She disappeared to Spain as running the pub was too overwhelming. Alec goes to find her and brings her back but he's taken over tenancy so he proposes so she can live in the pub too to help run it as his wife.
