I went to the national railway museum in York many years ago and the Steam railway museum in Swindon as well which I really enjoyed! One Christmas eve we had gone to York and had wanted to have gone to the castle museum so we had rung them up to ask were they open or not as Christmas eve is hit and miss if things are open or not and yes they were until 2 that day so off we had gone and had enjoyed it there! Outside when we were leaving about 2 there was a family there wanting to go in and got turned away as they had closed the doors at 2! Lesson in this is never assume things will be open even in good times!
