CORONAVIRUS TRAVEL: MY FIRST TWO FLIGHTS AFTER 7 MONTHS (FRANKFURT - MADRID - A CORUÑA)

Hello Hoppers! I hadn’t flown in 7 months, and I just took my first flight to Spain since the outbreak of COVID-19. I actually took two flights, first I flew from Frankfurt (Germany) to Madrid (Spain) and then from Madrid to A Coruña. At Madrid Barajas Airport, I had to change terminals, from Terminal 2 to Terminal 4.
I really prepared for these flights, getting information about restrictions and requirements from the Spanish and German governments, but still I didn’t know what to expect. In this video you will see exactly what I went through.
Having worked in medical research for a number of years did help a bit, as I am used to working with a mask, sterile conditions, and dangerous substances, however, being on an airplane and in an airport is a totally different setting than working in a laboratory under more "controlled" conditions. This was real life and you cannot control what other people do or even your own actions under certain circumstances.
I remind you that travel restrictions change day to day and country to country, so please stay updated on the most recent information.

Thank you again for another superbly informative video, Glad to see you're well :) I was due to travel to Madrid in September for the Vuelta, but both the race and Iberia flights were cancelled - such a shame :( I've never seen Madrid Barajas T4 looking so empty, it's sad as you say. And wow - even the planes have to wear masks! Love their "Remove Before Flight" message....haha.

Hahahaha, even the airplanes have to wear masks!!! Good one! So many sports events have been canceled; it really is a shame. I just keep imagining a time when we will all be able to live a "normal" life with no threat of covid!! Yes, it was crazy to see T4 deserted. Very strange. This is our present reality. By the way, I didn't film any officers checking inside my bag. I was showing my husband taking the sandwiches out of the suitcase we were going to check in. In any case, if you use soap and water or disinfectant gel, you get rid of the virus on your hands!! You don't want the virus to enter your lungs. Thank you for your concern. Stay safe!

I know. Our world has changed so much. But I'm fine with staying home as long as people stay safe and healthy. I will only travel if I have to. I do feel terrible for all the travel-related businesses.

Thank you so much Muchohop, your video is so informative and timely. Haven't travelled since Covid started and have therefore no idea what to expect at the airport. Great advice about changing masks because that's something people often don't think about. It's vital information, actually. My mum in Germany is not well and I may have to make a difficult decision about whether or not to travel at short notice from Ireland to a region in lockdown. Your video is helping me prepare for travel. Rules have probably changed again at the time I write this but at least I've some idea of what's involved. Again, many thanks for this info and have a very Happy Christmas.

I flew from Newark to Frankfurt in July (i have this flight report on my channel:) ) and then connected to Poland and it was so easy since only one Terminal was open, it did not take too much time to transfer when if the past I needed 2 hours to transfer in Frankfurt....Also, you have to accept the fact that there is no way to do "social distance" on a plane or at the airport., even with the sighs and every other seat taken it will not work completely...My Lufthansa flights (both) were pretty much full...i also travelled to Greece this summer and the planes were full ...so if someone is not comfortable with this they should not fly...Safe travels everyone!

Mucho ji, Namaste! Aapka video dekhkar bahut acha lagta hai (It feels good to watch your video). One thing here - did you sanitize your mobile screen and hands ofcourse which you touched to scan? That was one common point used by all passengers.

After 9 flights with 4 airlines since July I have just one extra bit of advice: avoid Ryanair at all costs. They’re still seating people apart leading to a lot of movement in the cabin and they’re the only one of the four that didn’t implement disembarking by row. Crew on my flight also weren’t complying with Italian regulations mandating surgical masks, wearing reusable cloth masks instead.

Ryanair isn't flying much these days. From Frankfurt-Hahn, there are 9 flights per week, in other words, nothing. Airlines really have to step up their game and do things right, according to regulations!!

Hello, Im flying to germany so, to Frankfurt im going, what is the boarding pass? I just bought my ticket but i dont know what is boarding pass

A boarding pass is a paper or a digital file on your phone that you get from the airline you are flying with when you CHECK IN for your flight. The boarding pass has your name, flight details, your seat number, and a code that is scanned when you enter the area of the airport where the boarding gates are to get to your airplane. You know, I should do a video on boarding passes!!
