This happens in EVERY prison across America. I was a C/O & later a Correctional Counselor in southern California for 27 years. I saw plenty of it. As long as prison system keep hiring substandard employees this will continue. Most of them were black officers.

First step clean house. Next step pay them better. Third step stop putting non-violent low level offenders in prison. And I'll give you the rest later.

As someone who once worked as a CO I say hook their nuts up to a car battery. It was always dangerous enough dealing with the inmates. A greedy, dirty coworker to worry about always made my blood boil.

If you didn't physically hurt someone you shouldn't be in prison. Probation, heavily fined and rehab type of classes. Do it again then prison. Stop putting everyone in prison. We need serious prison reform. It's just a money maker for the states and career advancement for prosecutors. It's a scam. I'm a former officer. I quit due to the poor treatment of human beings. It needs to change.

Inmates who have no friends or families to send them commissary money have to perform favors,in order to get that commissary. Imagine the hundreds of thousands of dollars literally being stolen from friends & family members,just so inmates can get commisary.

They are the ones to blame for all contraband entering prisons

The Woman Who said that her Son needed $150 to give to a Corrections officer is lying to her and she's very naïve for believing that. I've been to prison 3 times and he just wanted to get high! Period.

Interesting. Wakulla is the top "Faith based camp" where there are actual classes. Know what prisoners pay for a burner phone? 6 THOUSAND. Then they bust them. Oh you say..etc. but a person i know, got tossed, because they called a sweetheart. Didn't own the phone, or hide it. Guards sell then figure out how to sell again. Anyone trying to claim A few bad officers" hasn't been near a Florida Prison. These people can't qualify for jobs elsewhere. The only people willing to take these horrid low pay jobs are essentially felons.

Now this digital mail crap a lot of my prison family has had no one sending them a bd card, stamps, envelopes, anything til God brought us together, I’ve made a different in their lives. Not I can no longer send them supplies, if I send them a card they have to pay to get a copy of it , more money being made by the FDOC . I did what chapter 33 said I could do . Then of special days I would send each resident 10 pre stamp cards that they could send to loved ones. But FDOC wasn’t making money off what I was doing so they stopped it all . Those cards means a lot to all down there cause if my Florida boy/gal couldn’t use they was given to others that needed them . With no charge just a ty so many was shocked when my family boys didn’t want nothing for the card.

These corrections officers need to be arrested.

That's why I left... can't even trust your own fellow officer.

My son has been in all the Florida prisons its like that in every one ! I fail to believe it stops with the COs ,The prison are riddled with corruption period ! So theyre all collecting checks !

Now you have inmates sleeping on the floor cause of over crowding . I am an advocate for a lot of the boys and gals down there in the FDOC, it is getting more and more out of hand cause of greed . Then the medical letting them die of painful deaths and please don’t try to get a medical release for one that is dying of cancer , even if they are getting out for good in two months. FDOC let Charles die in prison without any pain meds til the last two days of his life .

They FDOC took the mail and turned it into digital yet contraband is still being found in the prison. How is this happening FDOC. ? Give them back their right and return chapter 33 to the way it was. Nothing that you have done is working , I am or was an advocate for 70 Florida inmates , I would send the cards to send to their loved ones or to hand out to those who has no one that could help them .I sent them supplies such as stamps, envelopes, paper , even that was stopped. This crap was done for no other reason than control , for contraband is still being smuggled into the prisons,I followed the rules and never did a darn thing wrong yet my boys/ gals plus myself got punished because of the FDOC OFFICERS. They knew who was doing it , did they go to prison , nope from what I heard they got a slap on the wrist and place into another facility. Now how does that work. Prices are getting so high in there that it won’t be long and no inmate will be able to buy nothing . Another control make they go in debt to keep them confined. Rotten system . They are to buy stamps and envelopes from canteen , what a job half the time there any to be bought . I want the mail like it was I gave many their hopes and dreams back even brought. Some back to God . I pray for the day God tears ll those prisons down and leaves the inmates standing. Then He goes to the homes of those that has done wrong to all these inmate and they don’t have a darn thing left but the clothes on their backs, I give my revenge to God and my hate for these people and their abusive prison system . In 1974 I was sentenced to 1 year at hard labor, on a road gang, I was in a cell with one old black man who just didn't care and 13 other hippies, We smoked on the average 1 ounce, provided by a wife who placed it in the truck which was a cage, a night! That's more than I smoked on the street!!
