45 in one set . But I do 5 sets and my overall max right now is 159 with approximately 2 minute breaks in between sets. I was 297lbs in November of 2022. I lost 120 lbs between now and then and weigh in at 177lbs. Started walking 10k steps a day, whole foods diet and when I first started I could barely do 9 push ups in a row.

Excellent. I did pushups as well when I was your age, mainly because I wasn't old enough to go to the gym. I also did situps. The mistake I made later when I was finally old enough to join the gym, I stopped doing pushups, mainly because I was doing bench press and other weighted exercises. It was a huge mistake for me to stop doing pushups. I recently began doing pushups again, I will never make the mistake of not doing pushups routinely. The message of my rant is, later on in your life, do not stop doing pushups.

I’ve found that 15 close to body pushups (for tricep focus) and 15 wider pushups a day ALL IN GREAT FORM. Is plenty. 50 a day is great 100 a day is wild but tbh if done right, 30 a day is easy. 1 minute and gets results

The title of this video is on point! If you do them year after year, you will become a beast! You must continuously challenge yourself with different rep schemes, sets, speeds and r.o.m. There is however a big misconception among many inexperienced people when they talk about the proper way to do pushups because they believe that there is only 1 definite way to do them correctly. There isn't.

Used to do a ton of pushups. Now I was at the point to where I couldn't even do multiple sets of 10 pushups. So I started for a month just doing pushups on my knees. Did 10/15/20/25 reps for 100 total a day each week the first month. Now I'm on month two and I'm doing the same thing, just no longer on my knees. I start doing 5 sets of 20 tmrrw. After month 2 I'll probably add 25 per week or 100 per month.

I do 80 to 100 push-ups every other day and I’ve seen a lot more muscle growth and strength from that then lifting heavy weights. I don’t however agree that it’s good to do push-ups everyday though. You have to give your body time to recover or you WILL NOT see benefits over a long period.

There are push up variations as well. Knuckle push ups and Diamond push ups. It could even be done at an inclined position with your legs on a bench for that extra challenge as you push against the ground. It can also be done from a wall as well. I've been trying to do knuckle push ups and it's quite a challenge so I recommend doing it on a mat before doing it on floor tiles.

I've been thru many stages of pushups, the most in one set was 70. Now mixed with gym three days a week, i do 5 sets of 10 slow, with 5 sets of three pull-ups slow. Neither of these are done super slow, just slow enough to focus on proper form with each rep. Im going to move up to 12 and stay there until i can do 4 pullups slow on each set. My goal is 7 slow pullups for 5 sets and 20 slow pushups for 5 sets. With dedication and small improvements along with steady gym work, i can see it. Hopefully, it will be in 3 months if not sooner. Great video by the way.

For muscle growth you are 100% better off lifting heavy for low reps. Push ups burn calories and are great for a cut. If your goal is to build a significant amount of muscle the most you are going to get out of push ups is maybe 10 pounds of lean muscle over a very long time period. You can achieve 10 pounds of lean muscle and more, much faster by doing high weight low rep weight work. If you plan on going on a bulk do not do push ups. It’s worse for gains not better. Don’t waist calories energy and time on something that is significantly less effective.

@@JohnDoe-fz7hz oh ok I love doing dips they're probably my favorite excersise for upper body chest and triceps. I'm lucky I have the shoulder mobility and flexibility to go really deep with them and get a big stretch. We know that the stretch contributes to hypertrophy. @@Branden-vl9sl I searched for a long time for a short and effective workout something I can even do when the day is filled with work and I´m tired. It also should contribute to any use in real life. I stumbled over some kinds of exercise some do for combat sports. Finally, I stuck to deadlift, Bench press on a slightly incline and close grip, shrugs, and for arms scull crushers and hammer curls. sometimes I do this with a Barbell but most time with dumbbells. I also added other exercises like goblet squats and bend over-rows if I have time and energy. That works quite good for me

Yeap, but NOT every day! Enough 2-3 times a week (you can and should do "plank" every day). And preferably deep push-ups (but start with normal ones)

If you sre bench pressing every 3 days, should you still do push ups everyday??

Supplement your workouts with pushups, don’t make them the main thing. For me it’s a requirement before I can do my actual workout or get into the shower on non workout days. 100 a day, start with 10 sets of 10 no matter how long it takes you. It used to take me all day to do 100 now it takes me 10 minutes

You shouldn’t be doing pushups every day as your muscles need rest. You should do your pushups and your bench press on the same day because this increases your intensity therefore promoting more muscle growth. Every three days should give your body enough time to recover and grow. Hope this helps.

If you're already experienced lifter I suggest instead of doing regular push ups you should invest in gymnastic rings and do it there.

The idiots that are going to do this is and permanently damage their elbows and shoulders is going to be high. Surely all of the best body builders and power lifters are all doing it wrong since not a single decent shape lifter is doing 100+ push up every single day for months on end.

I just don't get how doing some exercise DAILY is good for you, other than some cardio exercises. This daily trend of doing the same exercise is really bugging me. In my opinion, and I'm a noob, not a fitness expert, it's never a tenable model of doing specific exercise because it gets boring pretty fast and you're risking an injury after some time, I don't know anybody who is doing push-ups daily, but I know some people who are doing them maybe few times a week, or heck only once a week alongside other exercises, but they've been doing that for a decade or longer. Even "doing it for a challenge" point is missed in my opinion because it's not worth risking a soft tissue injury that will stick with you potentially forever to some degree.
