*Update* It works better if you apply coats until you don't see any more rust after curing. This may take several coats beyond the instructions. Then paint with oil based rust inhibiting enamel. That should do the trick.

Straight no-nonsense video. Thanks for uploading - useful.

Nice video, man! Seems like it's very similar to Rust-Oleum rustwandler, which has been working great for me in Denmark, Scandinavia, where it's VERY humid and the roads are salted every winter. But as you mention in your update, I too found out, that it's imperative to let the stuff cure at least overnight, before you apply more coats of it or paint. Thanks for taking the time to make this video. :)

I have used Corroseal for so many projects... everything from rusty door hinges, wheelbarrows, outdoor furniture, fencing, and of course automotive applications. It is the MOST AMAZING PRODUCT I have ever used. I spent $16 on a 32oz bottle about 10 years ago & I still have about 12oz left!!!! IMPORTANT TIP: DO NOT STORE anywhere that will get HOT, like a GARAGE or SHED. The material at the bottom of the bottle will rubberize & you will lose product.

Thanks for the tip on keeping it cool. I have a metal cabinet outside my shop for these type chemicals and without your tip the brand new gallon I just ordered would have gone right in and been ruined. Thanks!

Does it actually remove the rust or just colored it and cover it?

The area that has some discolor is the area he technically never applied a 2nd coat.... The 1st coat never got to dry then he just spread oxidizing rust mixer around and never used more than 1 brush worth on the 2nd coat when he used 5 on the 1st.....

You should go back and treat the rusty side with Ospho. A rust inhibitor, then paint.

I am seeing something that looks exactly like this called "FractionK" and I came on here to find a review for it. (it seems to go on white-ish then turns black, just like corroseal.

The right way to apply this product is to place it in the hopper and grab your sand blaster

Also the half with corroseal had the most rust so just the painted spot looking better wasn't as rusty.

Also could be he is painting with left hand and thicker in the bottom area but seem like good test
@thebaldeagle655Ай бұрын
If you look at the video of the before, you will see that the half that rushed through the paint was much rustier than the other side. Not really a fair comparison test. Should have turned the wheel 90 degrees and split the rust instead of leaving the right that was worse and coating it only.

That wheel was barely rusted. You could have removed that with a wire brush easily. You need to show it on really rusty metal.

What i've learned after countless videos, opinions & "experts" is: rust is like taxes & death- sooner or later, it's going to get you. 🥺

You speak the truth. It was explained to me long ago when I was a kid. All cars are headed to the junk yard. All yo can do is slow it down. As we used to say: Old Indian proverb. 😂 Some people would say what Indians had cars/_____that? Fill in the blank. I’d say the Cleveland Indians. 😅

I think your experiment is not a good example you did not have enough rust on there to be converted so when it got exposed to the element the parts that was unrusted and untreated I should say unconverted was exposed that's what you have you didn't you hit not enough rust to be converted that's why I failed
@FIVEVEEZEE2 жыл бұрын
I haven’t been impressed with Corroseal either. Try this same test with Rustoleum rusty metal primer.
@darylvoorhees26292 жыл бұрын
I'm curious of the longevity of Corroseal vs. POR15 vs. Rustoleum Rusty Metal Primer. I have used POR15 for the past several years and have just primed an old car gas tank today with Rustoleum Rusty Metal Primer. The tank was rusted pretty well. I had wirebrushed and degreased the gas tank and am eager to see how the finish turns out before I top coat it with paint.

Coroseal has done a great job for years on my projects...Wire wheel the LOOSE stuff. That is why this video did NOT show accurate results
@khancrossАй бұрын
I think this test means nothing. Before applying rust converter you should have cleaned the loose rust with a wire wheel. Make all as clean as much with it, degrease it and then apply rust converter. I will bet this time it will prevent rust much better
@N-e.oАй бұрын
What's the point of a "converter" if it doesn't "convert" the rust .. that's the whole point
@tar17023 күн бұрын
@@N-e.o Exactly, if I have to scrub down to the bare metal to apply a "rust converter", there's no labor saved.
@radzbakil1783 Жыл бұрын
I think you have to remove the rust first with steel brush then apply the rust converter...
@timothyward7381 Жыл бұрын
Then y even use it if ur gonna wire brush to the metal prior?
@JamesWide9 ай бұрын
@timothyward7381 His idea is to wire brush off as much as you can and then apply it. You'll never get all the rust out. The product should seal the rest.. or help
