Been typing for years that police need to carry their own personal insurance so tax payers do not have to pay for their actions. Just as a doctor. Too man claims and they loose their certification of police officer. This will instantly stop all the rights violations. Glad to see others want this as well.

while the rest of the country are rioting, robbing stores and restaurants into closure, and sucker punching while robbing people in broad daylight. AND these are mostly blue cities. I am a Veteran (Combat Medic), an ex-Correction Officer and a Therapist. I hope both men are awarded appropriately and the police that beat the driver up serve jail/prison time. However, I do not paint ALL Cops with a broad brush. Just like They are trying to do to White, Christian, Trump supporters??? I am Cherokee, Scotch/Irish and Nord (yep, Nord...I paid $65 to find that part out) and I amazed of all the division and HATE in this Country. We are Godless and any Christian, or person of sound mind knows which Political Party is doing this...They are also allowing 3.3 Million Illegals into this country and look you in the eye and say "It's all okay, never mind the cost of a hamburger, gas, or groceries...never mind we're trying to start WW3 and giving Israel 100's of Millions of dollars to secure THEIR Border...LOL, but not ours (they are future voters), never mind all the FED's spying on Americans, denying free speech, Putting down Jesus and lifting up the Alphabet MOB...never mind all the scapegoats being murdered or locked up to save the FED's AND TRUE WICKED i.e. Epstein, P. @@peterwright9546your wrong. In 2020 they passed senate bill 20-217 which limits qualified immunity but in all reality it’s already limited. If you can establish that the cop knew he was going against the law then they lose qualified immunity. If they come up and question you and you hand them something quoting the law in that area that says what they was doing is legal then anything they do after that will cause them to lose qualified immunity. Also if there was a lawsuit in the same city they work for the same situation you are in then that officer looses qualified immunity. This is why we see certain cases across the country try where some officers lose it and some don’t. As far as Colorado goes they still have it but to an extent. A lot of people don’t understand how to lose qualified immunity and I didn’t either up till about a year ago. I understand it more now. This is why you can see auditors get into a confrontation with police and then after they quote the law to the officer you hear them say you now lost your qualified immunity. I would highly recommend others to study the law in your area and the constitution that way if you have an altercation with the police then you can take that qualified immunity away.

There is a black ex cop on KZfaq who decided to 'atone' and give us the inside scoop on his past policing training and experiences while highlighting stories like these. Ex cops are about the best cops...still in cops who want to be just, get too much push back and harassment from other cops, so they often shut up and put up counting down to their 20. I think there is a white ex cop on KZfaq as well. I will take whatever race of American Ex Cop quite frankly because sometimes people need to see an example before they free themselves to do the right thing. I believe that at our best most human beings are decent people that want to do the right thing, but this system often forces people to cut corners or fall in line. Not an excuse...ijs. I even willy nilly came up with an idea that no cop should be allowed to work more than 4 hours per day because the threshold of patience and decency begins to wear off. These are made up numbers tbc...again...ijs

When a cop actually get busted in court his/her/it's sentence is about 1/5 th of that what a citizen gets for the same crime!!! If a cop get a 5 year sentence a citizen will get 20 to 25 years for the same crime!!! I think it should be the opposite as the cop has been "trained" and is supposed to know right from wrong!

The exact words "you go home EVERY day, that's your first priority" Had me disenchanted so fast. I never did continue. I swapped into working security for pepsiCO

The cops didn't do anything wrong, except perhaps for the amount of force used to gain compliance from an obstinate and uncooperative suspect. The guy refused to follow a lawful order so the cops lawfully used force to gain control of the situation. The question to be asked is why some people are so dumb they refuse to obey lawful orders. If a cop orders you to get out of the vehicle you get out, why do some idiots think they can say "no"? When a cop informs you that you under arrest what sort of moron says "no I'm not"? That is beyond stupid, it's the cop who makes that decision, not you. The guy was a dumbass although it seems the level of force used by the officers was excessive.

My friend was in one of the only NYPD police classes that demanded a college degree, but they found the cadets might have been smarter they realized they needed kids a little more street savoy and dropped the college requirements !!!!!!...….......my friend happened to have both but most didn't, he retired as a seargent after 21 yrs when he 50 yrs old ...........he retired because they took away qualified immunity and all the other BS going on today !!!!!............

I'm a fireman a few days ago we had a call where 2 cars were drag racing a deputy just happened to be parked doing his report from a previous traffic stop they flew by him in excess of 100mph. The deputy got behind him the 1 car took off the car the deputy stuck with accelerated to 100mph + lost control and rolled his brand new off the lot car 3 times ending on the tracks, I listened to it all on the radio from home before we got paged. While we were there and they searched the car we were standing 30-40 feet away and we could smell the weed in the car. Moral of the story that no matter how hard you try you can't hide/mask the smell of marijuana and had he stayed instead of running he would have only gotten a ticket or 2 but he turned it into fleeing and eluding, damage to private property, fleeing and elding on foot, leaving the scene of an accident.

Cop’s words that are not meaningful standard English should be ruled inadmissible in court, and retroactively regarded as though they never had any kind of force of law during the incident. The ground, the car, etc., etc. have nothing whatsoever to do with sexual intercourse.

This is way Qualified Immunity needs to be removed from Police. They need to be held accountable for their actions. Camera and Audio need to be on and a Law needs to be Passed and Inforced that they remain on at all times. As well as being worn by all Law Enforcement Agencies. All Settlements need to be paid from Officers Pinion Fund and not Taxpayers Money.
