Corvette C5-R onboard - Paul Ricard circuit

It's fair to say the Corvette C5-R is one of the team's favorite. An American sportscar turned into a very potent racer by Pratt & Miller, with a mighty 7.0L naturally aspirated V8 and a dogleg 5-speed gearbox.
We love the look, the sound, the fact it was a works entry, the livery but most of all it is very well put together and is featuring plenty of smart details. Clearly the guys at Pratt & Miller have done the job properly and the car would storm the ALMS and of course Le Mans (2001, 2002, and 2004 class win).
What a great thing to be able to enjoy it to the full on a sunny day at the Paul Ricard circuit!

oh yess baby. u just have to love those V8 race engines. i like them even more then V10 and V12 race engines from other GT3 and GT1 cars. something about this deep throaty growl is just so masculine and epic.

Something was lost from sports car racing when they went away from H-pattern shifters, I understand technology evolves, but it sure lost a lot of it's spirit

Literally. You don't even have to know how to drive the car in it's entirety. Merely steering. And it's nearing the point that the cars can be raced by a.i. Literally taking away the spirit.

@@FirstnameLastname-pe5ib Absolutely, I still enjoy sports car racing, but as you said the skill set is much different. The heal and toe double pedal foot technique is essentially lost, that was an art form.

You’re taking maybe 30-40% of the thought away from the driver going to sequential or paddle shift. So much more impressive to see a fast clean lap on an H pattern/clutch car
