GT racing is such a diverse category I’m surprised you’re surprised. The corvettes have always had a deep rumble until the C8, and the Aston Martins of the same era as the C7 had a very similar sound, except when they used v12s.

Allan Jr Fernandez Corvette never has and never will be a muscle car. It was meant to be America's direct competitor to the British sports cars GI's were bring back after the war, so it's been a sports car since the very beginning in '53. It's always had better weight distribution, coil springs and disc brakes front and rear since the early '60s and, in a lot of cases, had more powerful engines and better transmissions than it's 2-ton linebacker cousins. Sadly, the handling was alright and the build quality was sub-par from the late 70s until the end of the previous generation. The Stingray is a huge improvement over its predecessors. So much so that, in my honest opinion, the Corvette is now a proper sports car. It's not exactly America's GT-R, but it's pretty damn advanced compared to most other mass-produced American sports cars I know of and can actually go around a corner properly.

While the Ford GT is pretty loud it's sound is also rather bland whereas the Corvette simply sounds as if a primordial monster is coming your way and it intents to hurt you. The Corvette sounds so raw, untamed and intimidating, while the Ford GT gives seems more like a stealth plane: extremely fast and capable but doesn't try to attract your attention

Sounds like the old Can-Am chevy big block 7.0L engines from the late 60s early 70s

The way to get that sound is to not have a crossover such as an X, H, or Y pipe in the exhaust, and it's called "Divorced Duals". People in the engine design community have argued about it for about 40 years now. The general agreement is that at part throttle, the divorced dual exhaust will "drone" and rumble the entire time. X , H, and Y - pipes remove the rumble and drone to make the raspy sound you get with street-driven corvettes and also Nascar. I've done a fair amount of analysis on this, and the crossover is worth about 1% more torque under the curve if your headers aren't designed for it. On these C7 race cars, the headers are special. They're full-length Tri-Y headers instead of symmetric 4-into-1 headers. With a Tri-Y header, you have the "Manometer physics" that you get at high RPM over the collector. Then you have the resonator physics that go through the primary tubes. Then you have the secondary manometer where the primaries Y-together. Long story short, you want headers, and two pipes that never come together. Bonus points for tri-Y style ones.

Lol. I tried to summarize it at the end. I hate getting on forums and being told what to do, cause this stuff is expensive for a tiny gain. If you research the junk I mentioned, you'll come to the same conclusion, without having to spend $1500 for an X-pipe exhaust that doesn't sound all awesome and rumbly. You'll pay $600 for mufflers and lead pipes, plus get the C7.R sound that's way more awesome!
