Also, Cory knows that Shawn needs Cory more than Topanga needed him, and Topanga has said so many times that it's fine with her that Cory cares about Shawn more than her. Also, Shawn actually doesn't have anyone he can go to in his life, cause all he had was always been Cory, without Cory, he wouldn't have anybody else. His dad was in and out of his life most of the time, but when his dad decided to stay with him, he became dead, his mom left him since he was born, he then found out that Virna wasn't his birth mom and she left him as well, his relationship with his half-brother wasn't really good until later, but they will have their own lives too, and then his girlfriend also left him for her father in the military. See... he has no one left after that, and while everyone else constantly leaving his side, Cory has always been the only one in his life that never once left him, so Shawn needs Cory the most out of everyone else in Cory's life. Because everyone in Cory's life, all can take care of themselves, they're not all as broken as Shawn is, I mean, even Topanga can take care of herself better than Shawn. Shawn, without Cory, would definitely lead himself into more troubles than he have ever done now, without Cory and the Matthews, Shawn wouldn't be able to pass high school or even get to high school. Topanga's parents may be divorced, but trust me, she still has a better life than Shawn ever had, also she never lived in a broken home like Shawn did, he lived in a trailer park! So I think that's why Cory cares more about Shawn than Topanga, because he knows how much Shawn needed him and he, himself, also probably treasures friendships more than love and romance. Because you know, love and romance can come and go anytime, but friendship doesn't fade so fast and quick but once your friendship is gone, you can never take it back, that's why he want to cherish his friendship with Shawn as much as he could possibly do while he can, just as much as he cherish his love for Topanga.

After watching this video and the whole seasons of the series of both BMW and GMW, I gotta say, I agree. Cory and Shawn has a more deeper relationship than just best friends, even more than brothers as well, they are life partners. Okay, well, Riley and Maya are like that too, but they're not as open to each other as Cory and Shawn were. Cory and Shawn went through more tough times than Riley and Maya ever have, I mean, if GMW was originally from ABC, then we might see more angst, anxiety, more real life experiences between the two like what we see from Cory and Shawn, and how they became stronger than they were. Cory and Shawn had more adventure and eventful life experiences, they discovered things on their own, THEN they learn it instead of from just school, they learned it from advises from home and other places. Their relationship had more angst and fights, and separations, even long distance with each other to become this strong and unbreakable with each other this far, can Riley and Maya go this far with each other? Can they survive through anything like Cory and Shawn? Cory and Shawn went through heated arguments, fights, temporary separations, long distance, girls, engagement, marriage, families differences, envies/jealousy (Cory's stability in life, love, and family and Shawn's confidence), they went through so much together that nothing can break them apart anymore. Riley and Maya can't be compared.

so do I. I love their friendship and it makes me happy that their such great friends but I know I'll never have a best friend like that, that cares that much about me and will always be there for me and stick up for me no matter what. It sucks because I have some great friends that I really care about, and that I never wanna let go and will always stick up for, but at the same time, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't do the same for me and sometimes I wonder if it would even really matter to them if we weren't friends, because I know I would hate it but I sometimes wonder if they even care.

Yeah, all romance aside, I think it's pretty undeniable that Cory and Shawn were by far the strongest relationship period to come out of the Boy Meets World universe :) I love Cory and Topanga, I really do, but Cory and Shawn were the *true* exceptional relationship to come out of this show. That level of connection, caring, understanding and trust with another person- whether it be of a platonic or romantic nature- is what I would hope everyone strives for in their life.

@Stephanie L I totally agree with you. They have the strongest relationship out of all couples in Boy Meets World. Hell! Their relationship/friendships are even stronger than Cory and Topanga's couple! I mean, there were so many, many times that Cory and Topanga's relationship goes on and off before they got married, a lot of people and many things were always in their way to break them apart from each other. However, Cory and Shawn, you see, no matter, how much heated arguments they went through, no matter how many times Shawn tried to push Cory away, no matter if it was Corpanga or ShawnxAngela, no matter what Cory's parents say to Shawn, anything!, nothing can put them apart. Even after Cory got married and got kids, Topanga and her kids still can't tear them apart. No one can come between them. I think Shawn understands and knows Cory even better than Topanga do. And trust me, I'm more than 100% sure that even after Shawn's married cough*Katy, Shawn will also always be there for his best friend. Because in the end, you know, friendships actually last way longer than romance/love, and no one can take that away from them. And I think these two proved that ^^
