This is just a short video to outline how I found out about these items and what they cost.

They are at least consistent. People have been complaining about them for decades. 30 years ago, when I first got on the internet, some of the first gun postings I ever saw were complaining about Hunter’s Lodge. I bought from them a couple of times in the 90s, and always got what I ordered, after a sufficient delay. Never tried to ask them for stuff they didn’t list in the ad, but I can believe that would be a chore.

Great video, and it's like when you 1st a Tattoo Artist and you set up a 1st time session, it's going to cost you.!, and if you keep going to that same Artist, getting more work, getting to know that person, The prices come down. In same You talk to the guy from hunters lodge, getting to know him, buying, purchasing a lot from him or her. Growing a relationship. You get good to great prices. I love that when it's more than buying, it's a Friendship God Bless you my friend, happy Sunday

I had an enfield in the same shape. I made a front sight out of a sheet metal road sign. Worked perfectly!

You give reasonable expectations which is important for anyone ordering. I paid more and it took longer to arrive but I was still happy with my purchase. It does seem that you get a little break on pricing as you order more. Just the same, there is no magic solution to get ahold of them and I'm ok with that. Tried to get ahold of James today for some parts for my revolvers and called half a dozen times or so but I guess it wasn't a day they were answering. I'll try again tomorrow : ) Considering making a front sight out of a nickel which just so happens to fit pretty well and is also affordable.

Thank you for your comments. I appreciate that. Yeah, there have been times where I couldn't get James upwards of 2 weeks straight. It's just par for the course I guess. Good luck on getting ahold of him for those parts and thanks for the tip on the sight, I just might have to try that lol. I'll be dropping part 2 of the unboxing this week. FYI, the FR-8s are totally worth it, mine just need new stocks.

Thanks for the video again. Knowledge is power. Waiting for my c&r and deciding what to order. Lodge has steer horns for a wall decoration my so wants lmao. So that's on the list. A minty private/surplus k31 is also, I have been drooling over Mosin Crates stuff lol. Take care and keep up the great work.

Thanks, I appreciate that. By the way, Colorado Gun Sales has k31 stocks for $125. The K31 action I got from HL is pretty nice, just some minor surface rust at the tip of the barrel. By the time I got the rest of the parts I still think it was less that $400 total, which I still think is a good deal for a K31. I've got videos on the parts acquisition as well as the K31 action.

@@The_Casual_Collector np , I’m a fan of HL. I wish it was easier to get in contact with them (James especially), and I think they overcharge on shipping to effectively raise the prices on the guns, but despite that I still plan on buying double digit quantities of mausers from them in the semi near future.

Yeah, I have never gotten a response to email inquiries to them and gave up on calling, my patience is challenged LOL. Wish they would take orders on the website

I've asked them by email to let me know a listing for Fixers and parts guns. I doubt I'll ever hear anything back..... I'm wanting an FR7 and FR8. I'll deal with James from now on. If someone answers do you ask for James? The elusive James.....

I used to ask for him when anyone else answered, but in the last few months it seems like he's the only one that answered. It may just now be a one man shoe or two people, I've gotten shipping emails from Gail before. But yes, if someone answers, ask for James.

I'm sorry to hear that, but I don't have any secret unlisted number or anything. I just keep calling the one listed on their website.

@@The_Casual_Collector Uh, actually there is an unlisted number however you are best to talk to James. I've done several thousand worth of business with them the past few months and I still call in on the regular number so that I can talk to James. I still ask about shipping every time and I still wait many weeks for my order to arrive. Also, if I'm ordering something listed on the website, I'm still paying those prices. I just figure that when they are getting in pallets of surplus, they are doing me a big favor to go to the hassle of shipping out a couple rifles at what really are wholesale prices. In return, I can wait.
