What other kit would you recommend above this one? One that doesn’t cost too much more?

Thanks for the video! I did buy the kit from Costco and no problems at all! I’m using the included spots for trees, up lighting or spot lighting them. I did however go to Volt’s web store and purchased several customizable fixtures like their Twinovator (twin mini spotlights, MR 8 LED) on telescoping extensions. I also purchased some LED bulbs with a wider light bean cone and one adjustable. I just ordered two path lights to match the Costco path lights, with the threaded stem, on sale. Volt is having the Memorial Day sale with 10% off store wide, code is MEM10. Excellent fixtures in the kit for my back yard lighting project and I love that you can buy expansion kits at Costco or buy some really awesome customizable fixtures and bulbs right from Volt. The 150W transformer is working out great and now they are including a wall mount bracket, a little wimpy one but it does the trick. Great kit for anyone on a tight budget wanting solid cast brass fixtures which will outlast any painted steel or aluminum out there.

Found the kit with 6 spot lights and 3 path lights plus 150 transformer for $299.97! I bought several kits and at ghat price it was a no brained compared to the price fir Vista or FX. So far it a good fit. If i need taller lights or more custom lights Ill grab those from my landscaping store. Overall, I’m impressed with the price and kit. It’s centrally not an FX light but each of those lights are $100 or greater per light.

I think the costco kits are a great way to go for a lot of people. They don't have great stake and I wish you could put mounts on them, but they light its self is great quality! Yeah FX are kind of pricy, but you're right, they are really nice lights.

Since the excess wire is very thin, could I for example cut it closer to the light and use a 12/2 gauge wire instead to connect it to a hub or another light that’s far away?

What about the AMP brand? I managed to get ahold of a kit. It appears to be the same manufacturer, however they say AMP is their pro grade.

AMP and VOLT are the same company. AMP is the contractor side, VOLT is the customer side. They are essentially the same products with some minor lighting selection differences.
