My 11 year old daughter suffered greatly from this. We visited a lot of doctors and eventually saw a heart specialist who diagnosed her. Its from inflammation so I found a turmeric extract called curcumin. Shes takes it morning a night and she has zero symptoms. She use to become light headed, nauseous, pale, depressed. It was extreme. She dropped out of all sports. The curcumin saved her life.

For OP, please look up a product called a backpod. I have this chronic issue. Yes it’s chronic. Daily stretching using the backpod, doing chin tucks, and arm wall stretches will help you. The biggest thing that helped me was the backpod. Please get that for your daughter and I guarantee it will help you. The vitamin d didn’t help me. I took 10,000 mg and still do, but it didn’t help me.

I had this when I had a horrible bout of bronchitis and was coughing deeply and for long periods of time. The pain drove me to the ER with the Doctor saying it was costochrondritis….when finally recovered from the bronchitis the pain eventually disappeared but oh it was so painful to even breathe. BTW, after getting bronchitis 1-3 x a year, and covid after a full three month bout of the bronchitis totaling 4.5 months of miserable sickness, i did my research and went on a supplement regiment with antioxidants and D3, K2, and many others i think around 18 of them, i have not had an upper respiratory infection for 3+ years! And of course prayer. It all works! What a freedom from illnesses!

I had this years ago in my early 30s. It was so painful I could barely breathe and some nights I would awaken in the middle of the night and wouldn't be breathing at all because of the pain. I would have to actually force myself to breathe to get oxygen back into my body. I went to 3 different doctors before I got a diagnosis. He gave me anti-inflammatories, steroids and pain meds and I got better fast. I've never had another episode, thank God, but I still remember how painful it was and how incapacitated I was. That was over 45 years ago and thankfully, I'm still getting around ok.

Wow, the only Dr that I've ever seen talking about this. I had this huge incredible pain at the bottom of my left rib as I was going through a shooting exercise, went to the hospital, and without any tests done, the doctor said it was a muscle strain. I was diagnosed with costochondritis in 2021, after I had Covid. I got my diagnosis but I didn't get strong medication so my recovery still had a long way to go. I took things into my own hands by researching and found this educational vid on KZfaq where a doctor explained how increasing blood flow to your back area would help with healing your rib. I decided to get back to the gym and change my workout plan, doing light exercises for the back, several days a week. Eventually, the pain went away and I could wear seatbelts again, workout properly and much more. Today, I'm almost fully healed but I'm not so comfortable with certain angles when it comes to my left side and arm position. Still, I recommend to anyone who is suffering from this condition to do a lot of light back exercises to increase blood flow to your spine wich will in turn heal your ribs.

@@barsbaksi5861 Hello! I would say I'm still at "almost fully healed", since I can activate the pain/discomfort by doing certain angles, but my quality of life is good. I am sorry to hear that your problem seems to reoccur though. It is possible that your problem has turned into a chronic diagnosis. Is there something in your daily life that perhaps might disrupt your healing?

@@RebelliousProtagonist I don't think so I don't even go to the gym for years. .Whoever I talk generally mentions they're around %90 healed. It's so so hard to see a person who can say ''I'm %100 healed''.. For that reason I still believe surgery is the only option for me but it's very hard to find a doctor who can take this responsibility and accept the surgery. I wish you to best my friend. I hope you'll join %100 healed community :)

I was doing a lot of cycling at an intense level. My breathing was very hard and over time I must have strained all my intercostal muscles because one day I simply twisted and dislocated a rib. The muscles were so tight they pulled a rib out of my mid back, ouch. Recovery was non existent until 4 weeks later I saw a massive improvement when I stretched the front of my body. Simply bending over backwards on a foam roller immediately helped. I've also been massaging my own ribs in the front. The pain was incredible but along with stretching I've seen massive improvements. Its funny because i felt no pain in ny ribs until i started massaging inbetween them, but treating and stretching the front has sorted out alot of problems i had in the back.

I use a Shakti acupressure mat. It takes a little getting used to however it works for me. I actually fall asleep within 5 minutes and have my wife time me for 20 minutes each use. The mat uses thousands of tiny spikes to stimulate the body’s pressure points. It is designed to help relax tense muscles, reduce stress and tension, improve circulation, and promote overall wellbeing. It’s a form of Chinese medicine for centuries.

Attracts less water & has much higher absorption. Glycine also helps reduce pH in small intestine, supporting absorption & preventing Magnesium deficiency. Beneficial for improving Magnesium status, generally well-tolerated & unlikely to cause diarrhea. Involved in energy metabolism, muscle contraction, DNA synthesis, blood glucose regulation & reproduction🙂. 🚨⚠D r. my chest fell on the handle bar of my bike when I was a kid. I fell hard on it and it knocked the wind out of me. the docs said I almost died. then a few years later I was diagnosed with scoliosis, which corrected itself through my adolencence but started having severe chest pain at 18 years old. the hosp doc didnt know why and just said I had "Pleurasy" which frickin kept me from pursuing the dream I wanted in the USAF and police force. I have a lot of weird, strange seamingly serious health symptoms now, and the docs either don't understand, or just don't want to take it seriously. I've put my body through A LOT of abuse my whole life. the docs aren't doing crap. It's all my responsibility cause they don't care. THANK YOU DR. Thank you for this video. When I was in my teenage years I was a passenger in 2 major car accidents. Didn’t herniate any of my thoracic vertebrae but did herniate L5-S1. Now that I’m older I’ve been getting “heart” pain. Including shortness of breath, lightheaded, feeling weak all of a sudden. I’ve had the whole gamete of testing and my heart is fine. I do have Lupus SLE, Sjogren’s and RA (Yay me). So they’ve called it costochrondritis. So they have lumped it into one of these being the reason, basically idiopathic. They have given me nitroglycerin patches, and that seems to help. Wear as needed not daily. But would that have any effect if it was costochrondritis? Or could I have 2 causes of costal pain? It’s confusing

I did notice that when I stretch in the morning not to stretch all the way as a normal person stretches. And I don't have that unbearable pain. Plus I am dealing with scoliosis also. So that a double whammy. That's probably why when I don't stretch all the way I don't bring the pain on. Thanks again. Makes total sense.

I feel like I have a rib out in the rear, left thoracic region. 2 chiropractors say no. I’ve been foam rolling but it only gives temporary relief. I’m now wondering if it’s an issue with fasciitis or scar tissue. I’m going to use my theracane to try and stretch the tissue in that area.

I got injured at work trying to help an elder not fall. She grabbed my hand and I tried to prevent her fall. It pulled my arm down with her weight and was diagnosed with cosochronditis. 4 months off work... It took a very long time to heal. The Dr. Had me lift 25 lbs to go back to work and re injured my ribs. The pain was excruciating and hurt to lie down, sit or stand. I'm sorry that happened to you when you were younger.

Should we take deep breaths? Sometimes I take deep breaths on the foam roller in areas that I feel a lot of pressure and sometimes I feel the ribs joints snap

I've had pain in the lower right side of my ribs for a long time. I think it gallbladder sludge, been using choline citrate for it. Went to the doctor once for this. She said I was breathing wrong. Please! Did she really go to medical school?

Thank you for the validation. Lost all my vaso vagal tone in an instant after I broke ribs 2-7 at or near costovertebral joints . No one will surgically treat these thoracic injures. I got PRP injections in my Costovertebral joints, transeverse processes, SC joint - it helped a bit with stability, but would not recommend it unless you already have a trusted relationship with a PRP provider who is an ultrasound and needle ninja. (I'm lucky). The "pain" is not sharp, it's more a deep choking, gurgling. Like I'm bubbling in my chest wall. A deep sense of doom like impending death. Heart palpitations. Mechanical instability. I cannot play any sports nor lie on my back without something propped under the ribs. What hurts is the rest of the body working overtime to hold me upright and provide suspension when my thoracic cage is slumped. My poor foot. I can feel the stress fracture. I hope my hip and foot can hold out long enough for me to find a surgeon. It's been 3 years and I've seen multiple surgeons, sports med Dr's, Cardiologist. Looking for a cardio-thoracic surgeon who understands upper ribs, but I'm in Canada so have to go to US.

I, as well as 2 other close friends have had acute costochondritis events after overstretching arms out and back, as in an exaggerated yawn. One went to ER in a panic because we are trained that chest pains should automatically make one think heart attack.I’ve had it happen twice after over stretching, now I just never do that and it has not reoccurred.

Hi, I have all the symptoms but they are very similar to pericarditis, nothing shows on scans or mri, both are hard to diagnose as far as I am aware, mine is mainly in my sternum, can hurt to breathe in sometimes, can’t sleep on one side sometimes, junk foods and physical exertion make it worse, so frustrating I don’t know which condition it is

Dr. Berg, I have a health condition which doctors unable to diagnose properly even after colonoscopy, MRI, sigmoidoscopy. The issue is the walls of anus area (at the opening ) is swelling. Can you propose something. I'm suffering it for more than 7 years now. I'm afraid that it became cancerous by damaging the tissues in that area

This is a horrible horrible horrible debilitating condition that is not discussed enough, too many doctors know nothing about it. There is a device called a backpod that has helped me tremendously although I’ve accepted this is a chronic condition.
